Would not be wise to do that. He is a good backup that doesn't turn the ball over and for the most part plays smart football. He has proven he can win with this team and when you have your 40 QB coming back from injury and you trade Teddy and if he goes down again then what? If you think Taysom Hill can run the offense better than him well you are stupid. It has been proven you can win the Superbowl with a good backup QB and again if Drew goes down those draft picks do nothing for you. People get so crazy about these draft picks. Keep him as your insurance and then when the season is over we will see where we are at.

It's a great idea on a surface level. But when you consider the team is 5-0 with him and we're contending for a Super Bowl, you don't do it. I'd rather have the insurance in case something happens to Drew and know we could still win it all. If we really need to improve somewhere, we've got some cap and could get more by restructuring a deal or two.

I did. So trade him after the season when we no longer own his rights?

I mean we could resign him then trade him.

Bears would be interesting. Maybe we can do Teddy and a 4th for Robinson.

We would give them a starting QB and a 4th rder for Allen Robinson

I think CSP will put Teddy in the transfer portal and lock the door till next season.

All problems solved then.

Trade Drew and keep Teddy. Theo is 14 years younger and will get better because of Payton.

Teddy is absolutely not the future here. His play has been solid for maybe 2 of his games.
If Brees were to hypothetically retire, name me all of the clearcut better options this offseason...

Saints aren't paying him $15-$20 mil a year.
That's the going rate on a league average QB. Will there be a top 10-15 QB in free agency I don't know about?

Brees isn't retiring. The dude looks to be in agony on the sideline unable to play.
That's great to hear your take on it, but it means nothing, we don't know what he'll do.

Saints fans - Holy crap why are we paying Teddy so much money to be backup Drew is never hurt

Teddy comes in does exactly what we paid him in case of and earns every penny showing we can survive if Brees go down

Saints fans - OMG trade him now even though he has no value for any current team and we may be the best team in the NFL and only have minor holes to fill. Drew is back. Who cares if he's not fully healed and may get hurt again.

Saints ain't trading Bridgewater. He is still needed if anything were to happen to Brees down the road.

And god forbid if Drew re-injured his hand? We still have a good shot with Teddy. He’s undefeated through a tough stretch of our schedule. Granted the defense has been stellar.

Cowherd advocating anything that hurts the Saints or disparages New Orleans is his norm.

Teddy might take the reigns from Drew when he decides to hang it up, which could be at the end of this season.

You'll get a 3rd round comp pick No one is trading anything of value for a QB halfway through the season that's expiring And especially a QB, they're not like a WR or CB you can plug in.

Titans might win their division with Teddy. They may do something like Teddy and a 3rd for their 1st.

And why can't they do that with Tannehill? He looked good and has chemistry with their WRs.

Teddy is not much of an upgrade(if any) over him and would need valuable time they don't have to get up to speed.
