Not saying they will trade back, but Payton has a PhD in the draft rumor mill.

Disagree. Historically, I think Payton kind of sucks at hiding his intentions in the draft. Apparently his interest in Pat Mahomes was an open secret in 2017, so the Chiefs knew to jump in front of us to nab him. Same thing happened with Reuben Foster later in that round (though that worked out great for us). 2018 we traded up for Davenport like idiots. 2019 we didn’t have a 1st. Then last year everyone knew we were about to pick LB Kenneth Murray, so the Chargers jumped ahead of us to steal him - hello Cesar Ruiz!

No ... it would only piss the vets off... we kinda lucked up still having a good enough team to compete despite losing a Hall of Fame QB... we need a player ready to play right now...
