re: Cooks is a bust

Alot of the things you are saying are true:
Brandin Cooks has no wiggle in his hips, he simply cant make anyone miss.
He cant out jump defenders because he is 5'10"
And youre right, he is not a #1 wide receiver
But, he isnt a bust. Maybe underwhelming for his draft position and what we had to give up to get him, but definitely not a bust.
Yes, i would rather have Jarvis Landry in the second round. we should have traded up a few pics in the second to get him. I said it then and ill say it till i die. ask Tigerbait, we ve had a nice discussion on landry and cooks although the definition of versatility goes over his head. I do know what youre saying about the "eye test", and i agree. People put too much emphasis on stats and disregard watching the guys play. No, Brandin Cooks will never be great, but he will be good as long as he plays his role. He has good hands, elite speed, and even with NO elusiveness, he can be a game changer.

Cooks has more:
Yards
higher Yards per catch (10.0 vs 14.0)
TDs (4 to 9)
at least you are consistently wrong in your opinion

I wish you people could learn to watch players play firsthand and see their skillset and not just rattle off stats from a player who is the number one option on a team with a HOF QB who is losing nearly every game and needs to throw to have a chance. If B Cooks would learn to come back to the ball to make of for his short stature he could actually be really good. I can still picture that josh norman pick in my head. The pass was short but Cooks has got to come back to the ball and try to make a play. you cant always just wait for the ball to come to you in the NFL.

Thats what tigerbait does man, he cannot and will never be able to, get past the stats.

Landry has had 31 more targets than Cooks.

Snead is kind of Landry'ish. so Snead for free compared to Jarvis for a 2nd is very good value for us.

where is your comparison between drew Brees and Ryan Tannehill? Also note the dolphins have landry run 5 yard routes all the time. And before Lester comes in here saying, "because thats all he can run".
Landry is not used to his full potential but im hoping the new coach next year will change that. Landry > Cooks

Snead is better than Landry.
Take into consideration he has just 136 yards less than Landry does, despite 38 less receptions, despite missing 1 game. only a fool would take Landry over Snead

Well i guess every NFL analyst, commentator, and coach is a fool, because i dont think anyone (maybe besides Sean Payton) would take Snead over Landry. Maybe you should consider a career change. Maybe you can be an NFL scout. You seem to be very experienced in the field of looking up stats on the internet and copy/pasting them to tigerdroppings.

unless you want to rustle feathers, not sure i would go that far. I do love snead though. At some point you have to take into account Brees vs Tannehill.

you are the only person that thinks a 4.75 runner can get down field more than he is already.

what can Landry do that Snead cant?
as far as taking into account QB play, Landry has 56 MORE targets than Snead does. Not saying there isnt a QB difference, but that is a shite ton more of opportunities

Cooks has the same amount of TDs this year as Landry has in his career. And Landry has a lot more targets.
Posted on 12/29/15 at 11:34 am to Lester Earl
I've already established that that time was a fluke as he was injured and he runs around 4.5, but ignorance is a troll's bliss i guess.

Wouldn't go that far.
Landry is a very good player. Like Snead a lot; he's a more physical Lance Moore, but I couldn't take him over Landry.
Cooks>Landry though.
