He's a backup with backup type productivity. I think people are missing the point of his signing. We needed depth and veteran leadership in a shockingly young secondary. We really aren't paying for the production as much as we are paying for the intangibles. He was also an insurance policy for the Von Bell experiment.

I still have no trust in our talent evaluators draft or free agent.

2 good drafts, 2 bad drafts in the last 4. the constant reaches on the Leonard types in the 4th round which you could just reach on in the 7th round make me think we are really running out of time.

Really?

2017
Arnold
Tom
Carr
Hill
Hardee
Maulet
Lawrence

That's just udfas.

2017 completely overhauled the team.

If Davenport, Smith, Clapp and Stallworth work out this draft will be great too

Coleman and Ginn are suitable trade bait in my opinion.

Kurt Coleman is so trash and non-existent that I thought this thread was about Brandon Coleman lol.

FA has been good the past few years

Teo
Ginn
Davis
Okafor
Warford
PRob
Watson
Klein(some may disagree but he's had good moments)

Fleener was a miss and the jury is out on Coleman but their strategy has payed off recently

Crazy we could have gone after Mathieu instead

Honey Badge would ahv ebeen a great addition on the field, but I don't believe he thought it in his best personal interest to return to the city

that is the Saints MO for defensive backfield free agents

I dont fricking get it. And sure, he probably is contributing in a mentorship capacity. You dont pay a mentor that kind of contract. And why we didnt go for Mathieu is a mystery. Seeing him ball out last week just pissed me off.

Agree on Ginn if the offer is good enough, but I seriously doubt anyone wants Coleman's contract.

I'd much rather Vonn Bell over Coleman. Maybe Coleman will catch on later in the season, but I'd rather Bell right now. Coleman has been subpar against the run & pass so far. Bell still sucks against the pass, but he's faster & MUCH BETTER against the run.

I don't really see a problem with signing Coleman, but I have a huge problem with how much money we gave him. All we had to do is wait a couple of months & we could have gotten a better Safety for less money. Who knows though...maybe he helps us out later in the year.

That was probably the plan. Unfortunately, it's now looking like Bell is an insurance policy for the Kurt Coleman experiment.
