The chiefs and saints had similar endings last year: the refs dictated the end result (one game moreso than the other, but still). Both heartbreaking losses.

Both teams were super bowl contenders this year. The chiefs and their fans are able to smile and cheer as their team miraculously made the comeback and heading to the Super Bowl.

The saints? Lose to the fricking Vikings in the first round.

Yes I’m still mad. Bunch of losers.

If they call the PI last year the Saints win

The Saints don’t deserve to be where the Chiefs are at. They just didn’t want it as bad. Not to mention Chiefs would have a field day with the Saints.

Kc and Mahomes comes off a historic season last year.

Kc adds a wr with their first draft pick despite having multiple elite offensive players

The Chiefs are miles ahead of the Saints. A QB who can sling the ball all over the field. Weapons galore at all positions. Actual playmakers. A defense that can create turnovers and make stops when it matters.

These teams are no where near the same.

The crushing part is Mahomes could have been a Saint

KC actually came out ready to play in the postseason, unlike the Saints.

The Saints have just as talented a roster as the Chiefs if not more. They offense didn’t show up for the playoffs end of story.

Just looking at the offense the Saints have

Brees (All-Pro)
Thomas (All-Pro)
Cook (Pro Bowl)
Hill (obviously underrated)
Kamara (All-Pro)
Murray (Pro Bowl)
Great OL (includes two All-Pro tackles and 1 Pro Bowl guard)

Those two teams are trending in opposite directions imo.

The Chiefs backed into a bye then homefield. Saints got their bye jacked by the sorry arse Packers after working so hard to put themselves in position to get it only to fall an inch and fricking Blough short. You get either bye and who knows maybe the Saints are heading to the Super Bowl. That's why byes are important and it doesn't hurt when the main competition chokes early and you get the Texans and Titans as your opponents either. As soon as the Saints lost out and had to play wildcard weekend with a 13-3 record I knew they would come out flat. And had the 49ers not lucked out against Seattle week 17 we not even talking about them and a Super Bowl. That's how fine the line was when it came to how important seeding was. Different matchups create different outcomes.

49ers-Chiefs will mark the seventh straight Super Bowl that both teams were a top two seed in their conference

Still no excuse for losing to the Vikings
