Roger Goodell's tenure as NFL commissioner could come to an end in the not-too-distant future.
Per Yahoo Sports' Charles Robinson, there are "successors being speculated inside the league office" with Goodell's current contract set to expire after the 2023 season.
Robinson noted some owners "privately don't shy away from talking about what kind of replacement is needed to take the league into its next frontier."
There has been past speculation about who might take over for Goodell whenever his time as commissioner comes to an end.
The Athletic's Daniel Kaplan reported last July that Kevin Warren is seen by people with close ties to the NFL as the league's future commissioner. The 56-year-old, who is African American, took over as commissioner of the Big Ten in January after previously working in the Minnesota Vikings front office.

Y’all are going to be begging for Goodell when the players get their way and replace him with an Adam Silver type who just bows to the players whims

I'm not trying to be a smart arse but, you mean like a democracy?
Silver is popular compared to Goodell.

(who down voted this?)
I thought the dude was going to be out in 2017 with his mismanagement of the cte stuff but he got another 5 yr contract.
Owners like how he keeps increasing their profits.

Donald Trump needs to be commissioner. He can do it in his spare time.

I’m pretty sure the players don’t have a say so in the election of a commissioner. The vote is with the nfl owners and if you don’t think they’re electing someone that makes them the most money then you are insane.
