I know most of us weren't fans of this trade, but it seems like it was a better trade than we thought given the injury. Wish him the best of luck on recovery.

Nothing worse than preseason injuries but CGJ was gonna be a malcontent in the locker room had Saints kept him.
The Eagles didn't seem to make him a priority either and Hurts deal was gonna make it hard to keep him around

Fresh off of trashing the Eagles fanbase a few days ago

I hope he makes a full recovery. He really needs to learn some lessons about burning bridges though

Playing on a one year prove it deal. He’s gonna get even less next year when he hits fa again. And no one will offer him a long deal again if it’s a major injury. Will have to do another one year deal. Bet he’s really regretting not taking the saints long term deal now….

You do realize that he wasn’t guaranteed to get injured right?

There is optimism that #Lions DB C.J. Gardner-Johnson's knee injury is not serious, per sources.

More tests to come after CJGJ went down in practice today, but as one source put it: “He’s fine.”

Some guys have ligaments more likely to tear. The strength of your ligaments are genetic. The collagen content in the ligaments of athlete A is different from athlete B. There are also always ways to test or image a guys knee to determine how susceptible they are to a knee injury. Never a guarantee but nothing is. It's about risk.

This could be a freak thing or some teams possibly thought he was a risk. I doubt anyone outside of an NFL medical staff is going to know whether he had a susceptible knee.

Plus we traded him for a lower pick than we would have gotten by letting him walk in free agency.

This is one of the dumbest takes of all time.

If turn around to pet my dog I may have missed an accident on my way to work.

If you want to say that you do not care what happens o CGJ I can get behind that. If you want to say sucks for him...I can get behind that also.

The MRI on Lions S C.J. Gardner-Johnson revealed no structural damage to his knee and he is considered day-to-day at this time, I’m told.

Great news for a huge part of Detroit’s reshaped secondary after Gardner-Johnson left practice earlier today.
