With the starters (PRob and Greer) out for a good bit that last couple of weeks, we have gotten a good look at Johnny Patrick and Marquis Johnson. I think they are solid 3 and 4 on the roster. Also, throw in Corey White at 5 and you have your CBs. The other guys are trying out for other teams/prac squad.

What are your thoughts?

ya got it, Patrick and Johnson both far from flawless but neither looked overwhelmed or embarrassed against the ones and going almost full games. I wouldn't be terrified if they had to step up. The depth on this team is pretty amazing when ya start comparing other rosters.

so with that out of the way as Most Worrisome Position, what do we go to? Backup OL? Tennant continues to not impress. Charles Brown did look better last game. Marcel Jones? Eric Olsen?

I'm comfortable with it when the starters are healthy. Patrick will be a very solid nickel. But if we start having Patrick and Johnson as full time starters due to injury, I don't think well fair well against teams like Green Bay unless the front four pressure really stays on

I agree. I was just talking as if they were keeping 5 CBs on the roster....I think those 5 are set right now, barring injury in the next three games.

I think Safety and o-line depth are worrisome. Injuries could really hurt there. I don't think TE is that bad. Last year we basically only played with Graham and I think it was Humphries? Plus we have the new guy Higgins, who is no Graham but seems pretty talented. But I think we're at least 3 deep there.

Tennant has not looked well at all. Charles Brown looked good against the Patriots & really did a nice job on Chandler Jones for two series after Jones initially own Bushrod. I think Brown has solidified his spot so far.

If I had to guess now it would go:

1. Greer
2. Robison
3. J-Pat
4. Johnson
5. White

Mack if we keep a sixth CB.

I really like Johnson and White. They've both been pleasant surprises. Johnson has better coverage skills than what I was expecting, and White is very physical for a CB.

I loved the way J-Pat kept stride for stride with Lloyd and reached his hand in to break up the pass. That showed really good technique.

Safety, yes. I have no confidence in Amaya playing for Jenkins and just a tad bit more for Quddus in for Harper...not much though.

I am actually more comfortable with the O-Line. The 2nd team as a whole are not great, but individual players could fill in for a couple of games. I like Olsen and Brown. Olsen can play Center or Guard. I think they like the Jones kids they picked. Also, I think the Tennant project is coming to a close. I think they have a legitimate backup to each spot.

TE, outside of J. Graham, is a crap shoot. Thomas is injury prone and Higgins is getting some good playing time. I just don't understand the Daniel Graham move unless he is just a camp body.

Count me in the group that's not worried about Safety depth. For the record Amaya is backing up Harper, not Jenkins.

Looks set to me. JP Johnson and White look promising. Love the secondary so far.

I may have it backwards. I thought Amaya was FS and Quddus is SS. Ah well. At least I'm trying.

I thought this was the case too. Quddus is a shorter, heavier and stockier guy... either way, i think they are both pretty versatile safeties.

technically it is Amaya SS & IAQ FS but in Spags scheme they look a lot more like left and right safety having the roles a lot more interchangeable

Well Quddus filled in for Jenkins when they rested him for the last regular season game, and Amaya filled in for Harper in the Texans pre-season game.
