Carr would be a good player if he didn’t try to throw the football.

IF he had any composure or field vision whatsoever. Accountability would be a great add too

Carr IS a good player but we need play calling to fit his skillset

Carr is a good player in the right system. I honestly think he will be a top 10 QB under Kubiak IF they can protect him.

No excuses this year as he now has a new OC with a modern eye toward running an NFL offense.

We dump on Carr a lot while also saying that Pete Carmichael was one of the worst play callers in the league.

A good OL
running game
His “top” receiver wasn’t soft
Defense stays consistent

If he didn't stare down his primary receiver all the time and got rid of the ball quicker

He is a good quarterback. He’s not great. He’s not terrible.

He’s pretty much middle of the pack in the NFC. And there isn’t much separation between the top 10 guys.

Matthew Stafford
Jordan Love
Kirk Cousins
Brock Purdy
Jalen Hurts
Jared Goff
Geno Smith
Derek Carr
Dak Prescott
Baker Mayfield
Kyler Murray
Daniel Jones
Sam Darnold
Bryce Young
Marcus Mariota

Rookies:
Michael Penix Jr.
Caleb Williams
J.J. McCarthy
Jayden Daniels

Agree with this. This year should show who he is. McDaniels has never led a top offense that didn’t involve Brady, and PC is who he is. I can see him coming out the gate a little slow, but by midseason you should know exactly what you have with Carr.

He’s ok. He’s always been ok with a couple of very good seasons. But overall he’s simply ok and he’s now 33. He is what he is and we will move on in a year or two.

IF we had a strong running game and receivers caught the ball consistently.

He’s been in the league a decade and is 33 years old. He’s not a mystery at this point. He’s not overly bright and has never really carried a team. He may get you to the wildcard with a good line and good running game. Hoping for significantly more is kinda wishful thinking.

...if he doesn't fold every time he gets any pressure in the pocket.

The delusional optimism that fills this board each off-season is hilarious. It's like half of yall forget what we just saw all year and are back on the "he's good, just needs help" narrative.
