How bad must their turf crew be that the field looks this bad and hasn't had any games played on it.

I also noticed that their Endzone Screen has a huge dead block of panels.

I guess the Superdome isn’t that bad, but last season there was one issue with the Endzone Screen (maybe for a preseason) game when the vertical sync was off and it was drifting up and down.

It’s a natural grass field in the middle of the Arizona desert during summer. Im not sure what you are thinking it would look like?

There are dozens of golf courses in the area that look 10x better. And the keepers don’t have the luxury of moving the course indoors for a bit if need be.

They have to have had some other games played there. Soccer maybe? Otherwise, there is zero reason for the field to be so bad in the first game of the season.

Big difference between a natural soil bed and a giant platform that gets grown outdoors and moved indoors for games. You're comparing apples to astronauts.

Yes, and the entire field gets rolled outside through the end of the stadium on a giant conveyor system. They can give it the absolutely perfect amount of sun, water and anything else. That field should be absolutely perfect.

Maybe like a field that has a team of professionals and tons of money at their disposal to not have it look like shite?

I believe Soldier Field had similar issues last season. Though some say it was done intentionally so they could get their new stadium.

If that is the best they can do, they need to rethink having natural grass.

You’re right. It is pretty audacious to think that a 120 yard field that has a budget for upkeep likely in the hundreds of thousands and can literally be moved inside and out to get the optimal amount of sunlight, water, oxygen, etc, can be maintained to a reasonably good level.

Unless there were previous events on the field or the Cardinals have been practicing on it daily, there is zero reason the field should be in that condition.

There is another professional team that plays in the same city, on a grass field, in a retractable roof stadium, that seems to be having no issue

Not commenting on the Cardinals’ field because I didn’t watch the game, but the Diamondbacks have played on artificial turf since 2019.

Absolutely

There are tons of reasons grass could be discolored, despite top notch care
