I know we can't but he's everything that Allen isn't. Balls of steel.

Can "we"? Detroit looks to be on the upswing in a not that good division, while the Saints seem to be on the downswing in an worse division. Plus, aside from the weather, can we say right now that New Orleans is a more desirable place to work and live (at least for a few months) than Detroit? Assistants who want to be HC's will take a job anywhere that is available (See Payton after Katrina). But I don't know how desirable New Orleans (the franchise and the city) are right now for a coach with other potential HC options.

Dan Campbell seems like a good guy and a great motivator but I feel like this team needs an Xs and Os coach. Dan Campbell's success relies entirely on his coordinators.

You fricking people are relentless. The NFL has teams in cities with high crime across the United States including Chicago, Baltimore, Washington DC, New York, Detroit, Houston, and Los Angeles.

Crime won’t be a reason a coach doesn’t come here.

Send him a bag of Knee Caps and he'll come running.

NOLA is a small city relative to NFL cities. And while there absolutely is crime in everyone of those cities, there are also parts within those city where there is little to no crime. For NOLA, that line is shrinking. Then, you couple that with the fact that because of its small stature, NOLA doesn't have as much to offer as larger cities, it may be a less desirable destination than other places. Particularly if a coach intends to bring his family.

As I said, that probably wouldn't be enough to dissuade a coach desperate for any HC job. Payton came to NOLA literally months after the city was decimated. But for a coach with other potential HC options, the current state of the city is probably not as desirable as other places. I don't say that with ANY animosity for New Orleans. Just the reality of the situation.

We just live in different realities apparently. You realize even if everything you said about New Orleans is true (it’s not), the coach doesn’t have to live in Orleans parish?

I’m sure he can get by just fine in Old Metairie or somewhere nice on the Northshore.
