Anyone who wants to get rid of Ginn needs to watch the Saints play a game first. He’s a good player

Ginn was really good in 2017, hurt last year and now playing with a backup QB.

Ginn is our second best receiver by far and a solid one at that. It's like they didn't watch week 1 or notice how much we struggled without him last year.

It really is odd that some people think Ginn sucks. He's always been good when he's healthy & when Brees is throwing to him.
Playing with Brees in 2019 (5 Quarters) - 7 catches, 101 yards
Playing with Bridgewater in 2019 (11 Quarters) - 5 catches, 44 yards. Tre'Quan didn't play the last 2 games either.
His 2017 stats (he only missed 1 game in 2017) - 53 catches, 787 yards, 4 TD's, 32 1st Downs.
He was very banged up for most of the 2018 season.
He can still get behind a defense, but I wouldn't say that he's strictly a deep threat anymore. Since 2017, he's developed into more of a possession WR & has also tremendously improved his hands.
He's not the same WR that he was before his time in New Orleans. I don't know what changed him, but the change is real. It's not fair for people use his past hands issues as a negative, since it's never been an issue while he's been here.
Let's wait until after Brees comes back to say that Ginn is too old.

Ginn is the definition of a player that benefits from playing with Brees
Brees puts the ball on his numbers, so he catches it.
Bridgewater puts the ball two feet over his head, so he tips it up the other team.

Funny how with Brees Ginn secures homefield advantage against Pitt with a super clutch catch.
Then he catches in traffic what should have been the game clencher against the Rams in the NFCG.
Week 1, he picks up right where he left off with 100 yards.
Then we get shitty Bridgewater who can't throw more than 5 yards and he disappears.
Who really sucks?

Bridgewater is 20 yards or less nearly 100% of the time.
When Brees comes back Ginn will do fine.
That being said neither Ginn or Smith are ready to be a #2

We need a John Brown type, a deep threat option. I know M. Thomas plays slot but also imagine a Cole Beasley/Edeleman type to help with check downs.
This offense relies on AK and Thomas to be superstars, which is what they are, come playoff time we need a 3rd option. As of now, when Drew comes back, that might be Taysom.
Likely-Hood of 3rd option: (In order)
1) Taysom
2) Murray
3) Tre Smith
4) Ginn
5) Emmanuel Butler (I still Believe)
100 ) Jared Cook

Imo, his 2nd half numbers will blow his 1st half numbers out of the water. That's not exactly saying a whole lot, but I don't think he'll continue to be a black hole at TE for the entire year.
Brees comes back for the 2nd half (last 8 games) of the season as well. I'm honestly more worried about O-Line depth than the TE position.

Why? Ginn is perfectly fine at getting open deep. We don't have anyone that can get it to him.
Bridgewater is afraid to throw more than 5 yards and Brees lacks arm strength to hit Ginn deep without him waiting on the ball.

I'm still high on him as well. I wouldn't read too much into Lil'Jordan getting called up over Butler. I think that has more to do with Lil'Jordan being used as a blocker at WR.
I'm not saying that that one is better than the other, just saying what I think the reason is.

I would call Denver and see if a 5th can get Emmanuel Sanders

He caught the bomb in the playoff game vs. the Panthers.
He caught the bomb at the 2 minute warning in the NFCCG.
He is a playmaker in the clutch when he gets a chance.

Call me crazy.....but
Ted Ginn Jr just isnt very good.
Nothing about Ginn has changed.
Ginn with Brees...fairly productive, and better than expected. All in all, a cheap option that produces.
Ginn without Brees...a WR who doesn't run great intermediate routes and has questionable hands.
Did you not know this already?

Ted Ginn Jr just isnt very good.
Sure he has breakaway speed with the ball in his hands, but:
Cant find a soft spot in zone defenses
Unreliable hands catching the ball
Wont break any tackles
Cant block on the edge
All of this could be said the day we signed TGJ years ago. Nothing has changed.

Ted is not the problem. He's not as well suited in this offense as he'd be with someone with a bigger arm.
