Like Hetfield said, every year I see that they haven’t changed the fricking 1970’s era multi colored seats and I can’t believe it. A Multi Billion dollar business and they can’t at least do that?!

All this money into the dome with the Super Bowl coming up and they still can’t upgrade the cell coverage in there

The color of the seats has zero impact on my game day satisfaction.

I with you.
They replaced the seats in 1993 from a darker multi colored seat to a lighter multi colored seat. So they replaced the seats after 18 years of use, but won't replace the seats after 30 years of use? The seats were replaced in '93 before big money came in for renovations after Katrina, for the 2011 season, and now this project. That being said, they still will not replace the seats.
I don't get it at all.

This must just be a near impossible task. This renovation is $500,000,000 so if there is a way I think they would be the will. And this is the upgrade I would love to see.
I will forever weep the lose of the ramps. My childhood was playing ramp ball in the empty dome during Tulane games in the late 80s/early 90s. ‘‘Twas the best of times.

There is no reason for the old arse multi colored seats to still be in the dome. How much money has been spent on it since Katrina? Only in Louisiana could people get away with multiple renovations and not addressing the one thing that nearly everyone agrees needs to be fixed.

I will say this - the old seats serve as a clear demarcation line between the Club Level Patrons (with access to clean restrooms, NFL Sunday ticket viewing options, and fresh / healthy refreshment service in an upscale environment) and the unwashed masses, who are forced to step on a large ring and wash their hands in troughs (like livestock) or eat carnival fare such as popped corn, melted processed cheese over deep fried corn chips, and heavily processed frankfurters with only lukewarm and watered down beer for drink.

What would everybody think about this end zone design?

Why did you edit your original post? It was super shitty but definitely on brand for you.

Looks ok but what is that gold chicken scratch in the corner?
Posted on 6/20/23 at 8:59 am to goatmilker
I think it would be cool to change that chicken scratch to a few strands of Mardi Gras beads and then maybe a small FDL on the opposite side

quote:yeah, I've mentioned this in the past and was laughed at by some on here for saying it. But it's just dumb and typical New Orleans behavior for being nolstagic and keeping things like this from the past because you think it looks cool and want a reminder of that era (and that is the reason why they kept some of these multi-colored seats because the guy in charge of the Dome operations, I forget his name right now, but he said this in a old news story I saw awhile back).
My seats are in 303 & I am sick of the old multi color seats from 1975. This is a huge need.

You people are aware that the multi-color seats serve a practical purpose, right? It's not just that way for the hell of it. They create an optical illusion on TV to make a seat appear to be occupied when it is not. Unless the camera pans directly on the seats, the visual works.
And, all of the seats have been replaced at least once during a phase in the renovations. None are from 1975.

1. The camera isn’t panning to the 600s often
2. Not an issue anymore and with high definition it obviously looks empty

Exactly, I haven't a clue as to what the hell he's talking about because every time I saw that section on tv those seats were empty as could be with no one in them. "Optical illusion??" ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconLOL.gif)

That is correct, but applied to the 25 inch tube tv of the past. Since the arrival of HDTV that is no longer the case.

Correct, the old multicolored seats in the terrace and end zone lodges were replaced in late 1992 to early 1993.

the renovations cost new orleans the chance to host the Taylor Swift Eras tour

And Metallica concert! We are missing the Metallica stadium shows because of this shite! These numbskulls that run the dome could have made 400 million on these stadium shows!

I also miss the corner scoreboards. Now it is some sort of zig zag thing.
