Brees had more touchdowns (34v33), way less interceptions (16 vs 11), higher completion % (NFL record 70.6 v 68.8), higher YPA (8.54 v 7.88) and a much higher QB rating (109.6 v 99.9).

Mannings MVP was pretty comparable to Brees' #'s this year

manning did it with Jim Caldwell, we did it with Sean Payton. Look that was pretty much the nail on the head, Peyton continued success nearly by himself that year with colts.

Drew had 11 interceptions, but I agree with your post. He was robbed.

New Orleans Saints had the 6th best Rushing Offense that year.

Anyone care to guess Indy's?

they were last. They were also considered to have a much better defense than the Saints going into the Super Bowl

He also had WAY shittier numbers. Bad enough in comparison to Brees to make any arguments laughable.

RG3 made the pro bowl over him because of ints
Rogers won the MVP over brees because of ints (deservedly so IMO)

It was SOLELY because they started 14-0 and we only started 13-0.

However, the fact that it is Manning and not small market Brees did play a role I'm sure...

Manning was 6 quarters away from a perfect season. He had a lead on the Jets and only had to play a shitty Bills team.

He had it until Curtis Painter shite it away.

Brees has gotten robbed for the MVP atleast 3 times (and you could argue every year except for Bradys 50 td season) since he's been in New Orleans. Drew Brees broke almost ever QB record last year (including some he owned) and they give MVP to Rodgers based on passer rating and Low int marks. What passer rating doesn't factor is sacks taken. Brees 170 games played sacked 234 times. Rodgers 85 games played sacked 211 times. This season he was sacked 51 times and Brees has never been sacked more than 30. When your not taking sacks the possibility of Ints increases. Sacks should be a factor in passer rating because the best QBs in League today get rid of the football.

Blame the media for there love affair with all things Manning. I for one is waiting for Manning to choke again in the playoffs. Don't think he can last but another season. Most of his passes are ducks that find it's mark. Arm strength want last much longer

Although he was most definitely robbed in 2009, the consolation prize wasn't too shabby:

Yeah, it is a sham. Since that year the MVP is meaningless. Sportswriters should not determine the MVP, HOF, etc. they shouldn't be involved in any process of the sort. Anyway, people will look back and see brees' superior year and his head o head win against manning in the biggest game

They'll also look back and see that brees had a better run from 06-forward

3 5,000 yard seasons. Out of 6 such seasons
Back to back (2013 to back?) 40 TD years

Single season completion percentage
Single season yards

It just makes it so bad that we got completely screwed this year. frick 3 G for that, and for not being able I stop Alex smith from driving the length if the field
