Drew Brees is signing with NBC Sports over ESPN in a move that will make him a fixture on NFL telecasts far after he finishes playing, The Post has learned.

In a contract that will begin after Brees retires from the Saints, the 41-year-old will be groomed as the potential replacement for Cris Collinsworth on “Sunday Night Football,” according to sources.

@ ESPN

They’re going to have to go to local HS broadcast clubs to find announcers.

Think Drew could do really well. The biggest thing for him will be to relax a bit. He’s so polished he’s almost a bit robotic sometimes even though he’s a genuine dude. If he can do that I think he could be one of these guys that does this for decades.

This may be a really stupid question but is there any chance Romo and Brees could be on the same broadcast?

Well wasn’t Tirico brought in to be the successor for Al Michaels?
A Tirico / Brees duo would be awesome as well.

He’s starting out doing Notre Dame games with Tirico then will take over SNF with him.

Pretty sweet gig

Going to be weird seeing Drew Brees call a ND-Wake Forest game on some Saturday in October.

would love that. Miss Tirico in the booth. There was a game, maybe a playoff game that Tirico was doing radio call for the game and I was dumbfounded how he was on the radio while they had whichever hack was doing the tv broadcast.

I think he will make a better X and O guy but will develop into color commentator over time.
