No need to restructure this year....only $18MM. They need to restructure the following year when it balloons up to something like $26 MM. I'm not exact, I just know there's a big balloon the following season. If you restructure now, those future seasons get larger.

His arm is a wet noodle. Goodluck to him.

I have to agree. He's on the backside of his career now.

A wet noodle huh?
He threw for over 5,000 yards and 39td's and he has a wet noodle for an arm?

His arm strength is borderline average. And it was plain awful these past 3-4 games.

I'd hardly say his arm is a 'wet noodle' but listing his total passing yards and touchdowns isn't really indicative of his arm strength. It's fair to say he has lost a bit and I don't see how he can be on anything other than the 'downward tick' at his age.

Yea, throwing for a record 5,000 yards and he's done.
Thanks atl fan.

Brees arm strength I doubt would rank top 20 right now. He under threw so many passes the past few games I thought he was washed up. His accuracy is still probably top 5 though.
This is just one mans opinion.

Is arm strength all that important? Peyton Manning can't throw like he used to, he has no problem.
Favre had arguably his best season at the age of 40
Manning had his best season, statistically, just this year.
Brees takes care of himself, and I see no reason why he can't play at a high level for a while.

With his fanatical workout regimen and general badassness I can imagine him still ascending as a more complete or full athlete even if some aspects of his performance might be diminished physically at age 35 (TOMORROW!)

Arm strength does not equal stats. Drew had some accuracy issues this year compared to past but his arm took a step back. It was always mediocre but he underthrew, more often than the last, too many receivers on deep balls and outs.
He is a serviceable but I'm not sure it's wise to continue asking him to throw 40 times a game. I don't think his arm is holding up.
Develop a running game and let him move the offense ala San Diego. Then he won't be stretching the field 15 times a game. Maybe 3-4. Preserves the arm.

Yea well great stats does not equal "wet noodle arm" either. Maybe being a little emotional/dramatic there.
It's hard for me to tell if it's Brees arm strength or his timing that has him off on the long ball this year. I would love to see some stats on his deep passing this year. I know he underthrew some balls but I doubt that was the majority of his long throws.
