ok. Which LB should we have taken in the 2nd?

Navarro Bowman??

he'd easily be at least our 3rd or 4th best LB on this team

except we really cant sign any FA's and all our guys within are Special team guys

i dont think its too much to ask to find a LB that we could feel confident with coming into a game and not say "oh here comes that special team guy whatshisface". There were definitely several LB's that fit that mold in this draft even in the middle rounds

kindle would have been interesting

and i've changed my stance on his possible knee surgery...our other picks in rounds 1-3 won't be starting next year, so we can't hold this against kindle

Could Kindle be a 4-3 olb though?

Especially after the knee

oh i wasn't making that statement about him being a LB...just as a pass rusher. i know gyno meant LB, but i think kindle is a legit pass rusher. i don't care if that's from LB or DE

what we really need IMO, regardless where he's coming from

I'm not huge on Derrick Johnson, but I'd have to imagine that if they can't get value for Jammal Brown, KC would at least consider Bushrod. They didn't draft an OT at all. Not sure what kind of longterm contract DJ is looking for, though, but if we keep Jammal for one more year, you may as well have DJ starting instead of Bushrod backing up.

one youtube video has him getting burned a few times and giving up a good # of passes over the middle

So you forget about the 50 highlights where he is dominant, and point out the couple of plays where he gave up a first down? STFU.

Again, it's one thing to argue for a pass-rusher as the pick, but now you are just showing you don't know what the frick you are talking about.

so you are just rehashing what someone else said, any original thoughts?

I agree.

Fwiw, G. Williams was on WWL pre draft on Thursday and he said he was looking for a guy that could turn a run with TEs to replace Fujita. He mentioned Fujita's height helping him in that area. I thought pass d was Fujita's weak spot but i wont argue with Williams.

Watching Arounx he looks great turning and running in pass D. If we dont pick anybody else up it wouldnt surprise me if he was our starter week 1. Its not like he has stiff competitition

where was he "dominant" ?

a dominant CB has no highlights b/c he isn't thrown on

that last video you posted is exactly what i said. he plays well, and then he plays shitty. he's inconsistent

you posted a video of him being inconsistent

i don't even know what you're trying to say anymore

The guy went at the end of the 3rd. I think that's a great example of a reach...and drafting for need.

Personally, I think reaching for a guys whose rated 30 picks lower than where you draft is a recipe for disaster.

We can sign anyone who is cut from their team. Finding a veteran LB who can replace Fujita is a reasonable expectation.

fujita was born to play SLB

6-5 and 4.55 speed

he lost a step the past couple years. i wasn't mad that he left (esp for the price), but we need a replacement

he's short though i thought

i just don't see how our coaches can be solid in him. how much has he been able to show?

We have Alex Brown and Will Smith at DE who are both legit pass rushers.

Our needs were a stout DT and an OLB.

I could have sworn that's exactly what Sean Payton said in his press conference about Robinson. Wait. What? Crap.

not exactly a great measure on being a "reach"

every team has different draft strategies. Not everyone is drafting BPA.

their was a huge run on WRs and DBs that pushed him down the board.

he was a guy with an 2nd round grade. It actually would have been good value

And Alex Brown isn't a good pass rusher. Other than that, the post was spot on.

meh

i know you meant smith, not grant

they're "hard working" types. not speed rushers who instill fear in gameplans
