Bobby Slowik needs to be our 1st priority if DA gets canned.

I’m guessing he won’t because of Loomis but if by chance he does they have to take this guy and give him the head coaching job. The job he’s done with CJ Stroud this year and the Texan offense is exactly what we need. Ben Johnson wanting $15 mil a year takes us out of the running for him but Slowik has really impressed me. We need new blood in this franchise and a completely different direction. I hate to root against my team but it’s in our best interest to lose badly tomorrow so maybe DA gets the ax.

that ship has sailed weeks ago, when they won the 7th game DA was assured of another year to fail.
they will win sunday and move our draft pick all the way back to 18-20 pick and it will be for nothing as tampa will still win to win the conference.

Why does this get repeated so much. DA did not become the HC because Benson is cheap, he’s the HC because the front office half assed the search because they wanted to build off of what Payton created by trying to keep everyone else

I've accepted and become patient with DA. He wins and He deserves another year.
Also we need to bring a coach to a favorable situation, not a death trap leftover. If we don't make playoffs next year, 2025 is rebuild.

Disagree. There was no search. They went with the CSP guys that they knew well to keep it all going.

Correct. No search was had besides what is league mandated like Eric Bienemy wasting 2 days of his life in New Orleans so they could say they interviewed black candidate. Sean told Loomis to promote DA and that’s exactly what he did. It is beyond time for new blood. I would hire Slowik and give him a year or two to tear it down and start to rebuild with younger players on rookie deals. This running it back shite should have ended the second 9 hung up his helmet. Really it should have happened the year before that.

I've said before it was three things that decided the current course of the Saints.
1. A really good defense in 2022

I’m saying we should have started the initial rebuild the off-season before Bree’s’ last year. If we had we would be a completely different team right now but since Loomis has every contract backloaded he screwed us. Now we have to suck for a few years as Davis, Cam and that defense get older and our OL is terrible with a huge bust that doesn’t see the field that was supposed to be our franchise LT. If Lattimore or Kamara can fetch anything in trade you have to look into that. Same with younger guys that are nearing the end of their rookie deals. Our only way out of this circle we have been in for years is to take the hit of getting right with the salary cap finally and acquiring as many draft picks as you possibly can. It might take 3-4 years so why not get started now?

Misses the point of my post. DA was not hired bc they are cheap, so a $15M price tag won’t scare them from any potential HC

I don’t think tomorrow’s outcome determines anything about Dennis Allen’s future. I think the win against the Giants and Buccaneers secured his job for next year.
As for Slowik, I think he has to be considered. But we don’t really know anything about these coaches. We need a leader. We need someone the players will respect. We need someone who has insight and has something to prove.
