That Michael Thomas doesn't get injured. Very short sighted decision making today from Saint's FO, staking your entire season and possibly Drew Brees' last shot on your ONE good wideout.

But what do I know? Guess that's why I fix trucks for a living.

Oh well.

Who Dat!

You'll get criticized in this post, but this is spot on.

It reared its ugly head in the NFC championship game when MT was blanketed and no one else stepped up.

You mean if one of their best offensive players gets hurt the Saints will be in trouble?

Wait.... your criticism of not mortgaging you’re future drafts for one run this season was that it was SHORT SIGHTED. Wut????

Complacent maybe. Conservative sure. But short sighted is the worst thing you could call it

Look at it this way Mr Obtuse.

If OBJ is doubled, Baker Mayfield throws it to Jarvis Landry.

If Michael Thomas is doubled Brees throws it to who - Kirkwood, Carr,
Arnold, Zach Line???

I hear you, but the price just wasn't right. No one is giving up either a first or multiple high draft picks for Green, who will be unrestricted after the season. I thought the Niners paid too much for Emmanuel Sanders too.

I think with the emergence of Murray you’re going to see Kamara in the slot a lot more often. Jared Cook is going to be the key in how far we go IMO

If he becomes his 2018 version again I think we go to Miami

How the hell has has Thomas got any yards at all? Please break it down for us. Cause well teams are going to double him so how did he do it?

Defense held them to 2.9 YPC and Goff to 63% completion. Kamara caught 11 balls. We should've won

This defense will keep us in any game barring injury to an offensive player. Any team would hurt losing a top flight pass catcher. Next man up

Short-sighted? Nah. For all we know, the FO couldve been one of the teams trying to get AJ Green or Eifert from the Bengals but their FO were refusing to deal with anyone for any player. Denver had already dealt Sanders to the 49ers so maybe the Saints just decided to stand pat and not deal at all and wait it out until Cooks and Smith return.

We’ve been saying for 5 years this is our year, our chance, Brees is done after this season, blah blah. We will be saying the same dumb shite next year. We need to keep our draft picks and roll with what we got. My only concern is depth at T.

And yet somehow this team was top 10 in total offense last year, went 13-3 (including mailing in the final game) and STILL should have been in the Super Bowl but for the egregious non PI call.

And Cleveland is really tearing it up with their two premier WR's

To call the decision to not make a trade "short sighted" is quite possibly one of the dumbest statements I've seen on here. The Saints are about to have to pay several guys in line for big paydays. It would be silly to take on another big contract knowing that OR trade away high draft picks for what could be an 8 game rental. (the Saints already don't have a 2nd round pick). What has made this team so great recently is that they have been able to get all pro production for minimal cost considering many of there stars were or are still on their rookie deals. Those guys are now about to be PAID, and the Saints are going to need to get some more production from low cost players again.

Perhaps the decision was conservative. But it sure as hell wasn't short-sighted.

I wish we had the Tre'Quan Smith from last years Eagles game as a number 2.

I liked him. He was spectacular. What ever happened to that guy?

I miss him.
