Best Half in Saints History

Considering the importance of the game and the level of domination over a quality opponent, that was the best half of football the Saints have ever played. The only game that comes close was the win over Tom Brady and the Patriots during the Super Bowl year.

I feel like maybe the Arizona playoff game during the superbowl season might top it. I don’t really remember the details too much but I remember it never really being much of a contest.

The key word in the OP is Half
31-0 domination over the Tompa Bay Bucs in the 1st half has to be the best we’ve ever seen of the Black & Gold. So yes, I concur.

I posted this during the game. If not for Cook's fumble and 3rd and 6 drop (resulting us in kicking the FG as opposed to TD), NO could have been up 42-0 at HALF, with TB going three-and-out (or worse) on five of its six drives. That was pure manhandling.

Patriots game 2009 was way more important at the time. We will see if this game is a spring board for better things coming up

While that game was a springboard for the season, a 24-10 half isn't in the realm of 31-0.

We were 10-0 going into that NE game

I don't remember the play but saw Calloway blocking down field and was quite impressed.

I was at that Patriots game in the Superdome. That was the game that confirmed that we belonged among the elite of that year. It was a night game and the atmosphere was electric as we dismantled the Patriots at the height of their dynasty.
One lasting memory of that night was the post game Point After radio show with Bobby Hebert. He has the reputation of sometimes overindulging before and during the show. I don't think it really happens that often, but it certainly happened that night. He was way out of control and the results were hilarious.

Wow, riveting elaboration....

I was there, great game.
I believe the Dolphin and Redskin games that year were the two lynchpins to that SB season. Two game were we faced and overcame adversity that really strengthened our confidence. Same type of adversity we would face and overcome in NFCCG and the SB

That Patriots blowout was probably the most fun I’ve ever had at the Dome. I was with my sister and we were scoring so much I would ask her who do you want to get the next TD and about 3 times she called it correctly. It was exhilarating.
I will say, if I could have any blowout template for a win, it would be that 2017 Buffalo run-domination game with 6 rushing TDs, with one drive not having a single pass. Most impressive punch in the mouth I’ve ever seen the Saints give, even if it wasn’t against a Brady-led team.

How about the 2nd half of SBXLIV?
Outscored the Colts 25-7 after losing at halftime.

I mentioned this in the game thread, but I don’t recall the Saints ever having that huge of a lead at half. Maybe someone knows differently? Regardless, it’s in the upper echelon without question

I think about the second half of the ‘87 CIN game where we were losing 24-3, then outscored them 45-0 en route to a 48-24 win. I’m not sure if all points came in the second half, but the majority did.
Also, the second half of the Miami game in 2009 was insane. I think we scored 36 and held Miami to ten.
That doesn’t mean I don’t agree with you. I just need more time to ruminate on it.
