The front office already missed out on other up and coming coaches while sticking with the current staff. We have already watched this staff get out coached by two of them this season alone (DeMeco Ryans, Kevin O'Connell).

I know it won't happen, but the front office should go after Ben Johnson ASAP. I have a feeling he will end up going to another NFC team just to be the next coach we will regret not hiring.

Pipe dream. He will be coaching the Bears and Caleb Williams next season.

I'd hire Slowick if i was the bears right now. You can't deny CJ Stroud's development and rookie progress. Ben Johnson is great but that team is also having success doing to coaching culture top to bottom and has a veteran qb in goff.

DA will have this team on edge of playoffs. DA will get another year.

Agreed, I did say I knew it wouldn't happen. But FWIW he turned down interviews last season with a team that had the #1 pick.

Agree, and then we will continue the streak of mediocrity while the other teams who take a chance on these coaches pass us by.

The Bears are by far the most attractive job out there. You get the top QB in the draft to build around, another top 5-8 pick and good foundational players like DJ and Sweat. You also have a shitload of cap space and some desperate team (like Atlanta) will overpay for Fields.

IMO there’s nothing that could realistically happen between now and the end of the season that would actually convince them to fire DA. He’s won 5 games. They’ll give him one more shot no matter what.

It's a forgone conclusion that he next HC has to be offensively oriented to try to salvage something out of Carr and all the talent we have right?

That's the consensus on this board, no idea what the Saints FO is actually thinking. As others have said, as a fan, we have to assume DA will be back; then we have to hope they at least clean house with the offensive staff.

Ben Johnson appears to be the clear-cut top candidate, but Saints will be down the list of teams he'd consider. Chargers, Chicago should become available; would he consider LV, rumors about Belichick no longer being NE HC true??? All of these options will be more appealing that the Saints, IMO

The Chargers have talent, but they are notorious for being a poorly run franchise. And it depends on if Ben Johnson wants to coach in Sean McVay’s shadow in LA.

The Bears could go either way. They have some assets, but that’s all hope and luck until you find out who they are drafting.

Just curious, what are people’s thoughts on Pat Fitzgerald? A number of NFL teams have tried to interview him over the years, but he turned them down. Would he make the jump to the NFL now?
