Kid has Moxy. We should select him with the 32 pick.

NFL skills with Johnny Manziel's attitude and brain to go with it.

The two situations aren't really comparable.

Mayfield mouthed off to the other team after they taunted and tried to intimidate him during the coin toss.

They hit him with a shot that should've been targeting before that.

To go along with the pregame and other shite who wouldn't be upset?

For real. I'd have told them to go suck a fat one too if they pulled that shite against me.

Also, frick Greg McElroy for being that dude who's whining about this whole thing and being all "you can't do that and be a leader, this is classesless and disrespectful". This is the same dude who flipped off the Auburn fans in his playing days, and they're trying to tar and feather this kid and saying he's the next Manziel.

I fricking hate the media so much sometimes.

Mayfield is passionate on the field to win the game.

Johnny was an off the field showboat.

They are not comparable.

A lot of people are taking up for Mayfield in this thread, but remember that he is a repeat offender. This is not the first time that he has been criticized for losing his cool and doing something stupid. It’s a trend. We don’t need a Johnny Manziel or Jameis Winston on the team.

Your right. Those two examples are not comparable. Perhaps pick one situation and compare them both with that

What else has he done? He had a drunken arrest in the offseason yes. But I haven't seen anything to say he's a repeat offender for off the field issues, which Manziel had. And planting the flag at OSU was awesome, especially since OSU stunted at Norman last year after beating them, OSU never got any flack for that. Baker even said before that game that OSU doing that was still fresh in his mind. And then this incident was after a KU player delivered a cheapshot and looked like he was trying to end his career, so yeah he'd be pretty pissed at that.

He seems like a petulant shite and would get into to much trouble going out in New Orleans. Does not seem to be a CSP player.

Nah, if he had moxie he would have done it on their side of the field instead of waiting until he got back to his own sideline .

All the talent in the world but he has a history of questionable decisions and statements (Told Kansas fans they
better stick to basketball) (Planted the Oklahoma flag in the middle of Ohio State's field)(Trash talking incident with Baylor). Except for the drunken arrest nothing really serious but a pattern of immaturity that is concerning. He will be 23 years old by the time he hits an NFL training camp next year. The really successful QB's in the NFL don't have these issues on or off the field, they focus on the job at hand and then go home to their families.
