He easily could’ve watched Diggs catch the ball and grabbed him. This was as easy of a play as it can get. He’s a fricking joke and NOT above blame.

I find it funny that people say Williams gets paid millions to make "that" play. Really? I'm sure you guys with all of your athletic ability could have made that play no doubt right? Some people on here probably get paid $25,000 to jack up my drive thru order. Clowns.

Most reasonable people are getting over it.

He’s terrible.... if y’all made an egregious mistake that changed the direction of you’re company in a negative way would any of u still have ur jobs? I get mistakes happen but if I load a million dollars in stock to the wrong warehouse I’m getting canned. His mistake is a bit worse than that. This kid makes tons of money and lives a good life, why do y’all feel that he’s above criticism?

There are millions of people who could do your job.

There are maybe a few dozen who can play nfl free safety well. He played it very well all year and is barely old enough to drink. Nobody thinks he’s beyond criticism for that horrific play. But he’s a very good young player. Congratulations on being simple minded.

The word you're looking for is "your."

I still haven't watched the replay. It's still too raw and heart-breaking. He doesn't deserve death threats and I feel bad for him but actions have consequences and he can and should take the brunt of the anger.

Is it possible that Williams suffered a debilitating stroke on that play and that's what caused him to whiff?

I ask because I heard him speak at his post-game interview.

My career was Army Officer and I can tell you that perfection was the standard and if you made a habit out of not being perfect every day, your career as an Army Officer was in danger.

My 2 cents: fans have the right to be angry but they don't have the right to threaten death or injury.

I can tell you that the vast majority of officers in that formalized welfare system known as the Army aren't as technically and tactically proficient as your average Marine Lance Corporal.
Have a great day, Sir.

Lattimore was covering Thielen man-to-man with safety help, Crawley was covering someone man-to-man, another Saints CB was covering Rudolph man-to-man, WHOSE JOB WAS IT TO COVER THE VIKINGS #1 WR STEPHON DIGGS MAN-TO-MAN? He was WIDE OPEN. Williams was the safety who was placed in position to help another Saints defender cover Diggs.
Yes, Williams should have wrapped up Diggs and tackled him. My point is that one of the Saints defenders did not cover their man.
How does that happened after a time out called by the Saints?
During the timeout you go over your defense. You say: You've got Diggs, You've got Thielen, You've got Rudolph, you've got their 3rd Wr, play 3 deep safeties, and one player in the middle of the field if anyone comes out of the backfield.
Minnesota had 4 men on routes, 6 players blocking. Saints rushed 4 men and had 7 men in coverage.
Maybe Payton's timeouts did cost them. After their first timeout, they could have called a second timeout once they saw how Minnesota lined up.

Listen, the kid screwed up and knows it. I am not into beating him to death. However, I am a real fan for 50 years, and I have not yet heard him apologize to the millions of Saints fans whose heart was broken with his poor season ending play. We deserve an apology from him.

He choked...plain and simple. A guy who gets paid millions to tackle someone, totally missed the guy by a good 2 ft. and in the end, probably cost his franchise millions of dollars
...it shouldn’t have even come to that...the freak interception backhanding a thrown ball for an interception.... Ginn not set on a sure TD.... Brees short arming a deep pass to Ginn resulting in 7 points.... Snead overthrowing a wide open Kamara for a TD.... and mainly not picking up a 3rd and 2 to run down the clock and kicking the winning FG as time expired... there’s alot you can blame on why they didn’t win before the Williams last play blunder.....
