won't their be a good amount of times where LB's are covering WR's?

Sometimes, when the other team is passing out of heavy/base sets, but we're also running formations where we have 4 safeties on the field with 2 CB's.

My reason for optimism is Vacarro looks like a stud, and the d-line is being really disruptive. I'm concerned about our linebacker health. If we get Junior and Tez back, I think we'll be ok. If we get anymore guys missing a significant amount of time, it could mean rough sledding.

If you guys would've kept Abraham, that'd be a formidable front. Osi is good, but he's inconsistent.

Corners are the major weakness right now, and I'm hoping Brees goes after them all game.

This is the best d line we've had in a long time. I like what we have at ILB. And the secondary looks improved, especially with the way Vaccaro plays. Our biggest question mark is OLB, which scares the frick out of me.

I know

Its not like the cap space wasn't there. But I guess it wasn't in the stars. But Biermann has been looking fairly well. Good enough to get some pressure.

One of the mysteries of the world are how those nfl.com guys get paid for their "analysis". It's some of the worst reporting you can find out there for football information.
They really really suck, and they probably get paid a lot more than any of us

Off the top of my head their o-line is in shambles. I know their defense is in disarray basically depending on two rookie CB's.

Comments like this continue to reinforce that the general media has no idea what they're talking about.

. I feel like we might have possibly gotten a slight upgrade with Umenyiora, or at least no worse.

I've said it 1000 times on here before, but I'll say it again. Although Osi is younger, it's a downgrade, which is evident by his horrible game against the Titans

quote:

Not a good day for the player expected to replace the production of departed defensive end John Abraham. Osi Umenyiora’s -3.4 was the team’s lowest grade, as he failed to register a pressure in 22 pass rushes, the majority of them coming against Michael Roos (+2.2). With no tackles or defensive stops, he was equally invisible in run defense – in terms of negative plays, he was sealed inside twice on outside runs, and missed a tackle from behind in downfield pursuit. His grade was more about what he didn’t do (i.e. pressure) than his actual play.

No weakness. That's funny. I will call out a struggling Oline especially RT. Matt Ryan better get rid of the ball quick or he will be running for his life.
No pass rush. Osi is a downgrade from Abraham.
A secondary that is suspect especially with rookie CB,s.
No depth on D. They got butt-rapped this pre-season after their 1st string.

I think I read something yesterday that something they did on espn had only 1 team going under 7-9.

frickNG 1 TEAM!

Every year they want to predict every team improving and no team at the top can tumble.

It's like they are scared to deviate from the norm and do actual analysis and think for themselves.

I think it's fair to say they found their new Ray Edwards. Congrats!

Your right.
Now never post anything about having a superbowl ring and the falcons don't. Because who gives a shirt about past years, amiright?

I certainly don't give a shirt about it.

Not even a graphic Tee.

Apples to oranges. Comparing a team from one year to the next is often a mistake. Teams rise up(just not the failcons) and fall down quickly from one year to the next.

Remember when everyone thought Detroit was actually going to be a good team for years based off of one season?

Us having a ring and the fagons not is sweet joy.

It is apples to oranges. Because the previous year can show us what will most likely be on the field this year, whereas something that happened 4 years ago can't.
