I agree with everything you've said.
It is kinda relieving that I feel the team has no pressure. Just grow and get better. It takes a few years for us to get back to a legitimate playoff team.

People seem to have thought that a rebuild can happen in just 1 off season. It'll take at least 3 years, but that's with competent people in charge. With buffoon Loomis in charge who knows.

I'm excited and look forward to every season because I'm a Saints fan and a NFL fan. I'm not a miserable prick like several posters on ST

Oh I love the Saints and I believe. Always have Always will Oh when the Saints go marching in.

Excited isn't the word I would use. "Curious" is the word I would use.
This is the first time in 20 years the Saints don't have Payton or a member of his direct tree coaching the team. It's a totally new staff (unfortunately the FO is the same). We also have a true QB competition. That's not exactly "good", but it does provide interest. More than that, there are very little expectations of success. In some ways that makes being a fan fun. When a team is consistently really good fans tune in expecting to see a win every game. That can make the wins less fun because the feeling is more of a "good, they did what they are supposed to do" instead of being excited about each win.
It's a little bit like 2006 where fans weren't expecting much. So when they got so much more it was cause for great celebration.

[/img] I think this is going to be a fun and exciting season because:
- DA is finally gone and there's optimism about KM.
- We're finally out of salary cap hell, so no more dark cloud from that.
-Several rookies will see PT.
And more importantly, as someone else said, no expectations. I think we'll steal a few wins and hopefully play spoiler against the dirty birds and bucs.
But all we have to do is sit back and enjoy the ride. And who knows, one of these young QBs may end up being a legit starter.
