A torn ligament is a major injury. Like any major injury, a person has to work strength and flexibility back into the limb. Believe it or not, this does actually effect the ability of said limb to function as it normally should. Why don't you pay attention to his first two years in the league when he wasn't dropping the ball and judge him on that, instead of the one year in which he dealt with a major injury?
