Doesn't look like he is ordering from this place on a regular basis. Looks as if this place is in Cally.

Del Mar is around the San Diego area, where he has a second home

I guess I should have stated that I always make sure the tip goes to the cooks. I always contact the manager working to make sure that it does go to the cooks. Then again I always order pretty much from the same places so they know now.

that is a lot of work and I'm not sure I fully believe you...if true you're a great person.

That is pretty fricking cheap on his part. I tip 10% on take out. Most of these workers are making peanuts. Just me but if I was ordering food from a place on a regular basis, take out or not, not going to leave them a $3 tip that is for damn sure. Not when they are preparing my food!

The cooks prepared and boxed your food and you want to give the whore that walked it from the kitchen to the take out counter a tip?

Yeah, you should have.

$3 for takeout is generous. Although I'm sure some former/current server will tell us how he's a terrible person for tipping less than 20%.

No! I was a server for 11 yrs straight and take out orders usually receive nothing, and its not as if putting a box from the kitchen in a bag is all that complicated.....

Fwiw

The IRS forces the server to claim 8% of their sales as a tip. So in reality if its a 100$ tab, the server will have to claim 8$ as a tip.

Doesn't matter if its takeout or not in the IRS eyes. Server is server, to go or not

That looks like his signature. It has the same characteristics as one of his autographs I have. That said, it could have been written by someone else to make it look like his signature.
I work in the restaurant business, where people have the option to pick up their food. 75% of the people leave no tip. You are lucky if you get a dollar on a credit card receipt. There have been days where all anyone got was 3 dollars total in the tip jar.
Should Drew Brees tip more than $3? I don't think so, he is tipping the person that walked back to get the food. I see that receipt and I think that is generous, no matter who that person is. Now things would be different it was a delivery or a dine in

Drew Brees @drewbrees

In case anyone still cares about this report: I tipped $3 on a takeout order. Had we sat down it would have been 20%+

Nah, dude, if he doesn't throw his money at everybody that does any little thing for him, then he's a shithead. That putting a box in a bag deserves at least $10.
