Am I the only one who say that #2 on Jameis and had a scary flashback of Brooks?

Maybe if CSP wasn't running the offense, & telling Jameis what to do.

Jameis also has a much better team around him than Brooks ever did.

Anything can happen, but I have a good feeling about this coming Sunday.

Was Payton the coach?

If not then I am not worried.

Yes you are the only one who could possibly say it like that.

I'll just go ahead and address the elephant in the room.

You're having flashbacks because both Winston and Brooks are black.

Probably, but so what. It's not an elephant in the room at all. A black QB (there have been what, 3 starters in the Saints history) wearing the #2 is going to draw that comparison. Just like when a white RB wears 22 they'll say McCaffrey and he's a lunch pail kind of guy.

Sorry, I should have been more clear. I meant starting QB. Jeff Blake, Aaron Brooks, and tGOAT Teddy Bridgewater.

I mean clearly yes... this wasn’t a negative comment on Jameis, his play, being black, etc... just seeing someone who looked similar w the same number brought back some really bad flashbacks w Aaron Brooks

I am looking forward to watching this elite defense and Winston offense until Drew returns. Gonna be fun. I’m too not worried.

I dont think anyone who actually watches mccafrey thinks he is a "lunch pail" kind of guy. Mccafrey is every bit agile as he is tough, if not more so.

I think that perhaps you have that perception of Mccafrey because he is white.

If Jamies plays as well as Aaron Brooks, we will win 11 games or so

I don't have that perception at all. It's literally what anyone says when a white guy is athletically gifted.

You said

I have never heard anyone say this about McCaffrey. I understand you are not saying that McCaffrey is a lunch pail kind of guy, but you are implying that McCaffrey and lunch pail are synonymous because a white person wears #22.

I've heard them say it about shorter white WRs, and big bruising fullbacks, but never once have I heard someone say that McCaffrey is a lunch pail, scrappy guy.

It's not hard to say you misunderstood what I said. My statement is a testament to how people aren't generally very good at making comparisons outside of the physical features like skin color, jersey number, or size, or all three. It was made very tongue-in-cheek.

Mccaffrey has absolutely dealt with it. See below.

Fair enough.

I'll say that I have that perception about most white guys but I wait to make a judgement until I see them play.

My point is that I dont see how anyone, after watching him play, could conclude he is "scrappy" or a "gym rat" because he is a freak athlete.

shite for all we know, Brooks could have been a pretty good QB under Payton.
