you mean the season we LOST to the Bears in the NFCG... what's your point??

this is NOT how this team is supposed to look... we are two years removed from a championship, with the window still very much open...

but getting dismantled thoroughly, sorry, i don't feel quite as confident as some of you.... and i have no problem pointing out that fact.... nor that some of you are just die hard, never see any wrong, black and gold colored glasses wearing morons.... but hey, to each their own... do your thing...

i could care less which side the fence you sit on, but it's pretty hard to watch this performance and feel good about our CHAMPIONSHIP chances..... not just winning games, having a "good" season....

It's worked the past 2 yrs.

They did not bend much last yr. They ranked 4th in total defense. Yes, they stunk it up against seattle in the playoff but the total body of work was good.

Everything went to hell after Brees fumbled. Had we scored after moving it so well on that 1st drive I think things would have turned out different.

dismantled? we had over 150 yards of offense, ran the ball right up their number one D's arse, and had Malcom Jenkins (who alot of people outside New Orleans feel is one of, if not the best player on our D) out, and Tracy Porter out

also, you must know, Gregg's greatest asset to the Saints defense is his ability to scheme against other teams and exploit their deficiencies week by week, no chance in hell we game planned for this game for more than 20 minutes,

did we blitz once? guess gregg totally revamped the defense this year

which is all nice and dandy, but in the end we scored 7 points with our first team offense in 2 games... the first game, yeah they weren't in for too long, but they didn't play well either... shrugged that one off... no biggie... but tonight, sorry bro, i just can't overlook this piss poor performance...

and really my main gripe is on DEFENSE, not offense...

I'm not worried. This is the time of the year that gives me the most joy of making fun of dumb fans.
I liked it a few years ago when this board was mostly just educated fans. Lets wait to get worried until after the Packers game you chicken littles.

the biggest problem wasn't with scheming (blitz vs. coverage, etc.), it was with our fundamentals.... we couldn't tackle... we couldn't complete a screen pass...

those are problems that i worry about more than the gameplan from a preseason game....

again, i don't think we are going 1-15 anytime soon, but some of those lofty expectations sure are scaled back tremendously...
after the Lynch run last season, you'd think the one thing the defensive stallwarts of our defense would surely put an emphasis on getting the ball carrier to the ground, but damn... sure enough, we evidently didn't... still not wrapping up... still getting dragged, attempting the strip on every play....

i'm all about creating turnovers, but sometimes you have to know the situation... on a 3rd and short, get the guy to the ground, instead of keeping him upright and trying the strip...

Only concern I see is that the O-Line needs to gell together. Pass protection looked like shite at times.

It was good football on our part.

We should have not even played this one since we play them in a few weeks. It was bland for a reason and, did you notice, we almost never blitzed? That was on purpose.

Why are you even a fan?

Jesus Christ dude. It's preseason. Get back to me when we start off 0-4 and Brees looks like shite and our D sucks.

fricking people, I swear. One week ago we were the second coming of the Dome Patrol. Now we suck like 2007 Jason David era.

Step away from the ledge.

I agree for the most part, but our number ones did look like shite tonight.

The D looked like it couldn't takle a 90 year woman.

Not worried just disappointed at the play. Preseason is for getting timing down, player evaluation, getting in game shape, etc..

As long as nobody got seriously injured I'm not worried.
