No reason for Allen to accept being an interim. Of he takes a head coach job it's worth him getting a long term deal instead of coaching a year and theb team plays poorly and he's ruled out of other opportunities.

The timing of this really wouldn't line up with my hope. If this was post-draft, maybe.

Payton will never be back, except maybe in the broadcast booth or the other sideline.

To me it kind of tarnishes his legacy if he is back coaching next yr with another team.
