Baker isnt cheaper anymore and Id rather have Carr than Baker for equal money. Minshew cant hold Carrs jock so I dont care how cheap he is, hes a backup level QB

And yet Minshew has beaten Carr every time he played against him including the last game in Oakland.

The fans threw trash at him and booed him off the field, and right out of Oakland.

The Raiders are far better off with Minshew and his 2 year 25 million deal by far.

I saw someone compare him to Jay Cutler, I thought that was a good comparison.

Minshew has a better personality and leadership style.

Carr couldnt lead a lion to red meat.

Minshew also is likeable and has leadership skills.

Carr couldn't lead a lion to red meat.

How about Carr at $38 vs Love at $55? Works both ways

Love at 55. Not even a question.

Well can't we at least include bakers 23' contract since it will be the same 3 year period. Imo its an apples to apples comparison.

Why would we include that year? He was a free agent and anyone could have signed him this offseason.

Carr beat Minshew last season. Probably Carr’s signature win last season coming off a 1-4 stretch

Baker is now basically just as expensive. Purdy may be the highest paid QB in the league after this season.

Correct. Purdy literally about to get 60 million a year.

These posters/post are so retarded.

Players that play well get paid. Especially qb’s.

Minshew easily. And he’s not a great qb. But a few years of these one offs would be just what the doctor ordered to get right.

It sounds like we should just roll with Rattler or Haener based on what y’all are saying. That Carr isn’t good enough for a SB so there’s no point, I disagree because defense can win a SB if it’s an elite enough unit. (Manning’s last SB with DEN). Minshew has 0 upside, he can play well for 1 random game but we know who he is: a backup QB. Arguing to trade Carr to the Vikings for a 4th or something to start Rattler would at least be more logical with what y’all are arguing because Rattler theoretically has unlimited upside since we’ve never seen him in action. He’s either a beast and shows a ton or he’s trash and we end up with a top pick. Don’t know why Minshew is involved in any genuine discussion.

Comp%
Carr 64.9%
Minshew 62.6%

Y/A
Carr 7.1
Minshew 7

Pass TD%
Carr 4.4
Minshew 4.1

INT%
Carr 1.9
Minshew 1.7

QB Rating
Carr 92.3
Minshew 90.2

Derek Carr is somehow going to retire having swindled teams out of $300 mil

Carr because a 7-10 season from Minshew this year and this administration would back the truck up for him for 4 more years. At least with Carr its over after next year.

Lol why would you not include his prove it deal and give credit to Tampa bay for that. It’s the same exact time frame. We both were looking for QBs during the same off season. They chose baker on a prove it deal followed by a real contract and we gave Carr a 3-4 year deal, depending what happens. Regardless of contracts from 2023-2025 they will save at least $10 million per year more than us. And so far it’s paying off better for them than it is for us.

To think Minshew is a better and more stable QB is absurd

No disagreement here but what does that have to do with the Derek Carr led Saints

Lol I guess we'll find out how absurd it is

The question wasn't if Minshew is better... The question is would you rather have him and his contract.

Nobody is saying minshew is better in a vacuum. We’re saying given the makeup of the team and inability to get off of a mediocre aging qb contract it really doesn’t matter THAT much and would be worth the savings moving forward. We’re not winning shite anyway this year so we may as well not strap ourselves down to a bigger contract on a non difference making qb.

That's the point

Until we fix our cap/roster situation we should only be paying these guys.

We don't have to re-sign them. That's the flaw in your logic (as usual)

We can just focus on whichever one-year rental is available for cheap

Remember Dalton played better than Carr with a rookie Olave..

Carr could not find the endzone and just played for stats.

Minshew is a gamer. Basically he got bumped for from jacksonville who hasnt done stastically any better.
