"I've talked to some people in Washington, D.C. Some people in [Griffin's] press conferences. Some people I've known for a long time. My question, which is just a straight, honest question, is ... is he a 'brother,' or is he a cornball 'brother?' He's not really ... he's black, but he's not really down with the cause. He's not one of us. He's kind of black, but he's not really like the guy you'd want to hang out with. I just want to find out about him. I don't know, because I keep hearing these things. He has a white fiancé, people talking about that he's a Republican ... there's no information at all. I'm just trying to dig deeper into why he has an issue. Tiger Woods was like, 'I have black skin, but don't call me black.' People wondered about Tiger Woods early on -- about him."
How it in the F.... does this arseclown still have a job?

So an African American can't be a Republican? I didn't know that.

What gets me is that he can say this, and Stepehn A. Smith can say "**** please" on tv, yet neither will be repremanded at all.
I am so pleased that I gave up watching ESPN a long time ago.

SAS got reprimanded for his comment.
This guy needs to be removed from the four letter network, though.

ESPN Should Fire Limbaugh over this.

Way to keep setting the cause for equality back. Maybe they didn't give RGIII his "brotha" starter kit when he became of age.

Limbaugh got fired because he basically called out ESPN for exactly what they were doing.
This arse clown is trying to basically say because RGIII isn't a thug, he's not black enough. Because he doesn't use his color as a crutch, he isn't black enough. Because he's a Republican, he's not black enough.
RGIII is everything that ESPN tried to prop McNab, Brooks, Vince Young, and Cam Newton up to be, and they never can be because they were fricking morons, and couldn't read coverage if it were written in crayon.

My thoughts exactly... What is "The Cause?"
Though I hate to assume, I think he is most likely referring to the image/status of blacks in America. Though, ironically, who is the greater contributor?
A) A young, incredibly talented athlete who is a model for kids of all races, is successful on the field, and is well-respected by many people, regardless of race.
B) The 'journalist' trying to discredit him because he doesn't further the cause?
