Usually I would agree. I love aggressive D's....but I don't think it would work with our team. With our secondary we would get torched. Now, if we had a couple good corners, then hell yeah.

i love an aggressive game plan but only if you have the personnel...we don't have the secondary or dline push to do that right now

I disagree. Porter will only get better. We WILL get a top notch saftey from SOMEWHERE. And we WILL get a DC that will "knock a snot bubble in your nose." It's time to take the diapers off......

i am not saying do not get an aggressive DC - I want one, I am saying that he will not be able to implement an truly aggressive D i.e. blitzing from the secondary on a consistent basis until the secondary is addressed and to a lesser extent the linebackers.

I'd rather see ud be burned off a blitz than be burned while playing conservatively imo.

we can score but implementing that style without corners who can be left on an island consistently, just allows for a shoot out that we will not win consistently...most teams have a defense better than ours against the pass...

I agree. Let's blitz every down, because I'd rather get beaten by a team while playing aggressive defense than just sitting back and getting picked apart while the quarterback is having all day in the backfield.

i agree with you 100%. if we're bringing no heat and getting burned, bringing heat and getting burned will make me feel a little better/worse all at the same time

zone blitzes are easier to implement than man blitzes. so if we run some bad arse zone blitzes we only have to teach what player are responsible for what. they have to know that the QB most likely wont be able to throw a very accurate pass just patrol you area or dont let any one get past you. and keep your eyes in front of you.

I'd love to see a DC with intensity like ol' Bobby April had on our sideline. ( I know he was a special teams guy, but I loved the fire he had.)

Williams fits the bill. McDermott as a Jim Johnson disciple is my fallback hope.
