yep and Barry Sanders.

No one runs like Barry did...AK makes me think of the smoothness of Marcus Allen’s running style and with a mix of Jamal Charles.

In all his running style is very unique, there’s no one guy I can really tab as “Kamara is very similar to...”

you're wrong smarty pants. watch how kamara leverages his way out of tackles with his strength. kamara is a strong and elusive runner with scatback skills.

This

James played with great leverage and balance.

Kamara is faster but runs with that same style

More like Terry Metcalf.

Yes...........I'm very old compared to most of you LOL
And actually, the running style of Terry Metcalf wasn't nearly as smooth as Kamara's. But the aforementioned Eric Dickerson? Honestly, about the exact opposite of Kamara's style. Dickerson was tall, upright runner carrying all his weight up high...one cut at line of scrimmage, break arm tackles, and then long stride up to top speed rapidly, straight-line upfield.

Barry Sanders but he could not run through the tackles earlier in his NFL career.

Someone has a bad memory.....Barry broke almost as many tackles as he ran around during his entire career. You don’t run for 1,500 yards as a rookie without breaking tackles. It was like he entered the league in his prime, he was squatting in between 560-600 lbs with multiple reps as a junior in college.

No we and the press tried to label him Barry Sanders but he could not run through the tackles earlier in his NFL career. AK makes these moves like Barry did. Imo

So that’s not saying Barry couldn’t run through tackles earlier in his career?

If not, my apologies and I must’ve missed something here...

There's no one to compare him to. He has so much poise, balance, and patience. He makes every great play look effortless.

It's crazy how many tackles he breaks with how little power he uses. He's just patient and knows how to manipulate a defense.

Actually reminds me a lot of the way Shaun Alexander ran early in his career. Multiple defenders can be in position to make a play, but their vision, footwork, and deceptiveness allows them to just sort or sneak through untouched. Alexander did work in his prime outside the tackles by just barely eluding people entirely. Guys got very close but struggled to get him. It’s like they’re always running just fast enough to deceive you into missing them or not being able to catch them. They shift speeds up and down with ease and instinct. Curtis Martin is another guy that comes to mind.

He's part Marshall(pass catching, shiftiness), Barry(elusiveness), and Emmitt(power on the goal line). He seems to have taken the best attributes from the greats and molded them into his game. I've never seen so many different styles in a running back.

I just watched some Marshall Faulk highlights. Faulk is an easy example due to size and similar versatility comparisons for Kamara. When you actually watch their running styles, i don't see very similar styles. I may not use the best verbiage, but Faulk i see a little bit more vision, shiftiness and elusiveness... more hints of a barry sanders ish back mixed with straight line speed and vision. Faulk frequently hit holes moving more horizontal looking for that angle on the defense.

Kamara is man, he's mostly a one cut, uses his speed to deceive defenders, small in hole while gets uphill fast. Most of times runs with shoulders square and makes the most of runs. Not too much shiftiness and horizontal type vision.

I mean, in all honesty, his running style is a lot like Sproles. He's deceptive and gets downhill fast, uses power a lot when needed to get the extra yards. You take Darren Sproles and make him a prototype sized back and you end up with Alvin Kamara. Sproles may have bit more versatility with punt returning quickness.

In Kamara's rookie year, he already has more rushing yards in a season and receiving yards in a season than Sproles has ever had. Scary.

AK is extremely compact and uses efficient change of direction skills. It almost appears as if he is gliding rather than galloping. He changes gears faster than anyone I have watched before. Downshifting to avoid big hits, then extremely quick bursts that defenders brains don't compute until his is past them. It's very unique in todays football!

Quite honestly, not sure if there's one back to compare to him as a whole. He reminds me of a mix of backs. A bit of Pierre, Sayers, Faulk, and Dorset.

All in all, he's a very special player and we hit the mother loving jackpot.

He's a faster version of Pierre Thomas.
