That's a mistake SFP. Last line of defense in a pass happy league.

supply and demand. lots of decent safeties out there that cost less

we won a super bowl using a castoff/cheap FS named darren sharper. people forget this

Same with Fuji...a OLB.
Please tell the FO where theses types of guys are. We could use more for sure.

You know what would be funny. If the Saints get a pass rush but still get burnt by their safeties.

Fun Bunch. I think this was a good pick. With the new defense it's obviously a priority to have a guy who can cover slot receivers, and physical enough to cover tight ends. This guy can do that. No use in trying to get these people to see that. The saints put alot of stock in attitude as well. Watch his interview after he was drafted. He's confident, and shaking he's so excited to get started. This guy is going to fit in with this team. He will make the saints better this year.

until he proves something this season, as in some well written article will not change my opinion

Shouldn't that be the case for every draftee, not just the ones you personally like?

I don't dislike Vaccaro. I just think Jones is a better football player and I won't be able to change my mind until Vaccaro proves me wrong.

I feel the same way. I don't know why we didn't pick him other than they were skeptical of his health. I was shocked that Floyd dropped like he did, but reading about it now he only fits in a 4-3.

I was upset at the pick...but it'd have been exasperated had Star been available and we passed on him. I might have broke my TV.

Castoff is a bit harsh. Sharper was a pro bowl safety. And he was a difference maker on that SB team. You need quality safeties in the league today.

I am trying to be as objective as possible. This is my thoughts after watching just this game against WV.

We should have drafted Tavon Austin! kidding but the kid will be a stud in the NFL.

Back to Vacarro. I believe he will be a decent NFL player with a long career. But not at one point did his play make you say wow. To me he didnt look like the 15th best player in this draft.

He had some good tackles and a couple bad angles. He did a good job in zone coverage but had a couple plays where the WR created separation. Man to man skills are there as long as he can Jam the receiver off the line. I saw about 5 or 6 times where Austin came open but Geno either didnt look his way or Geno was allready sacked. The Texas Dline dominated in this game. And my final note is that too many times Kenny was blocked by 5'8 175lbs Tavon Austin.

A lot of other tape to watch but after watching this game and focusing on him, it doesn't think it justifies him as the 15th Overall pick in this years draft. Ive seen other Texas games and felt the same way. That he never wows you to think he is gonna be special. Again this is the only game i watched and focused solely on him.

If Star had been there would we have taken him?
