Then your situation doesn't exist

I mean you don't even consider 2006 a rebuild

well baw, there aren't too many teams winning multiple championships outside of the dynasty teams.

on the same token, you prob cant name a team that fired their coach and showed up in the super bowl a few years later, either.

Tampa- Gruden first year, no rebuild though.

Your point is off base. The non dynasty type teams all pretty much have canned their coach before getting there. Hell Payton fits.

I don't buy and wont buy that Payton is the guy once Brees is done, not retired, but done as a SB level QB. And I don't think SP will want to be here anyway once that is the case

Yeah, I thought you meant fired the coach AND THEN went to the Super Bowl shortly thereafter. That's why I said the Ravens.

And as much as Payton frustrates me, you're right. It's tough to find coaches who can win.

Any coach that has come in and won without a total rebuild was either because somebody retired (Cower and Tomlin. Steve Walsh, George Seifert and Mariuchi.) or because somebody did the rebuild but couldn't get over the top. (Dungey & Gruden. Dan Reeves/Wade Philips and Mike Shannahan)

Cowher did a rebuild from his Super Bowl appearing team in the 90's to his SB team in the 2000's. Most fans don't have the patience for it. People wanted Tom Coughlin fired when they were rotating Warner and Eli, but the man won them two Super Bowls...and they still want him gone.

Simple thing is this, as a fan I will curse and hate the coaches and players. But I don't want the organization to run things like that. Slow and steady in the NFL will get you closer to Pitsburgh and Green Bay. Snap neck rebuilds get you Cleveland and Jacksonville.
