At the end of the day, you don't win games in the NFL with -2 turnover margin. It just doesn't happen when you spot the other team multiple scores off of turnovers. We were lucky to even be close in this one.

I'm not saying you guys are wrong. But the team had late leads...like, last few minute leads...in four of the five losses.
I'm not saying you're wrong, but
Payton Era good years:
2006 - 11 INTs total
2009 - 11 INTs total
2011 - 14 INTs total
2013 - 12 INTs total
Payton Era bad years:
2007 - 18 INTs
2008 - 17 INTs
2010 - 22 INTs
2012 - 19 INTs
2014 - 10 INTs through 9 games
It is empirical fact that this game lives and dies by Drew Brees's decision making.
If he stops throwing picks, we can win out, and win the superbowl. If he keeps fricking our team every game, we will not win shite. Maybe not even the division.

Again, at the end of the day, they led four of the five games at the very end and still lost. The offense makes mistakes, but they also are the ones putting the team in the position to win at the end of the game.
They frick up, atone for it, get a lead and then the defense doesn't back them up.

You don't seem to be getting the point here. None of those games should have even been close to begin with.
Posted on 11/10/14 at 2:23 pm to CSB
Oh, the point is loud and clear. Those games should not be that close, yet they were. And they were on the verge of winning those games despite the errors. And still, the defense let it go four out of five times...and in spectacular fashion.

Maybe the D would play better if they weren't on the field for 4 extra series every game.

they're also the ones spotting the opponents 7-14 points, depending on which game you want to point out.
Look, yes, Brees caused turnovers and brought the team back to get a lead, but the defense held SF to 0 points in the 2nd half before the 50 yarder.
If you want to give Brees credit for bringing the team back, you have to give the defense credit for clamping down on SF to even allow that much.
This is the way I see it when reading some of your posts:
Defense fault for giving up a last minute drive, but its all on Brees that we were back in the game.
0 points allowed before that play, ZERO. Defense may have allowed a single play to give them a shot in OT, but its the offense that put us in that position in the first place.
This season, there's only 2 games that the defense laid eggs and that was vs. Atlanta and vs. Dallas.
The other 7 games, the defense did what they needed to do with what they were given.

Just copy and paste that from now on.

Poor hustle by DLine IMO.
watch the play. dline stops persuing him...
He was blocked in the back and pushed away from Kaep, toward the sideline. If not blocked in back, he would have been in Kaep's face and ball not even been close to reaching Crabtree.

The offense has to score more points to win. Under Payton, the offense has to carry the tea. It is how the team is built, it is how the money is allocated, and it is how we win. This year, the offense is scoring for both teams, and we can't win like that
This. 1,000 time THIS.
For people not to realize this is ridiculous.

Offense eats up all the cash. Offense has to spot the defense more points. It's really pretty simple.

And, I just want to say that more times than not the offense and Drew Brees are the reasons we are winning games. I can't tell you how bubbly my guts and how puckered my booty gets when the defense has to go out there with under 2 minutes and hold a lead. I'd much rather the Saints offense have to come back from down two points with two timeouts and two minutes left.
Offense had 2 chances to win the game this weekend. They were not up to the task once and totally shite the bed the second, absolutely costing us this game.

Offense eats up 68.75mil of the cap
Defense eats up 35.99mil of the cap
STeams eats up 4.665mil of the cap
so yes, Offense is majority of our team, and should be held to a higher standard than the amount of INT and fumbles we've been having.

Lets just say this, Brees has thrown a pick in 7 games this season. We've gone 2-5 in those 7 games.
Coincidence? I think not.

It's been their m.o. all season. You leave the game on the line with the defense. It's going to be a loss. However, the 49ers offense got dominated. They had one good drive the entire game. Brees caused an early 14 point swing and then periodically shite the bed throughout the game, which is why they won. It's also why they won in 2011 and 2012. Don't turn the ball over and we win, plain and simple.

Kaepernick has one of the strongest arms in the NFL

1. We will hopefully sign 1-2 new corners this offseason. Veterans who have proved they can play in the NFL.
Definitely. Besides Lewis there isn't much hope for us in the secondary (excluding safeties here.)

2. Draft another corner. One that can actually see the field over an undrafted rookie free agent.
Meh... I'd prefer a corner in FA. We never draft good corners. I trust our luck in the FA more than with the draft, which I think we should focus our emphasis on an ILB or OL.

3. Fire our secondary coach and get someone in who can coach up these players.
I know I'm getting a downvote for this, but Dennis Allen anyone? Our DBs were going after the ball with success when he was with the Saints.

If Hicks, or Walker whichever it was, would have hustled on that play he could have easily gotten enough pressure on Kap that he couldn't complete that pass. But he got around his guy and just walked to the sidelines for some idiotic reason that still pisses me off.
