5 out of 6 last Thursday games away vs Carolina Atlanta

I heard this on MTC today as they were going off on what bullshite Thursday games are and what a huge disadvantage they are for the away team team as they lose the vast majority of them. Then they say the Saints have not only played big division rivals on last 6 Thursday games but that 5 out of 6 games have been on the road and that is huge competition disadvantage for New Orleans

Yeah, something's gotta change. Teams, at least, should have a bye the week before, but it's the greedy-4-ratings TV network flex contracts that would poo-poo that fix.
I think the biggest negative narrative gaining the most league-wide support is not just the safety issue concerning the short recovery time between games, but more importantly, it resulting in star power like Sherman & Kuechly losing significant time or even their whole season bc of TNF. Teammates, along with fans, are pissed.

I actually think the Saints have been hosed year after year on this topic. Teams will get hosed at least once a year but to get hosed so often yearly is kinda frustrating.
I really wish they’d simply get rid of Thursday night games. If player safety is actually what they want, just get rid of Thursday night games.

I was telling my friend last night that Sean Payton is the type of guy that would not even have his team show up to a Thursday game to prove a point. This would obviously only work if the team was really bad and had no shot at the postseason. But imagine Payton announcing the day before the Thursday game that his team isn't showing up and is treating it like a bye week. Goodell would lose his f'n mind

Goodell is total piece of shite. There is a ruling in one of the lawsuit where federal judge all but calls him a pathological liar

Goodell is the type of guy to permanently ban people from the league for that type of thing.

I am interested in seeing that if you could link it or point me in the right direction. Thanks.

Unfortunately, Atlanta was too close in the standings last night, otherwise, it would have been a great game to start Chase. Rest as many starters as possible and basically treat it as a second bye week.

Has any other team in the league been fricked like this with the Thursday games?
Being on the road every year, it's ridiculous. Should alternate between home and away every year to make it fair

Time to start running over refs.

We had to travel to London and back this year as well.

Also 7/8 TNF games all-time have been on the road for the Saints. Not counting season openers (2/3 on road). This is inexcusable and must change.

Yes but you’re London game was an away game right? 2 years ago Atlanta had a home game in London. Someone’s gotta get screwed on those.

Atlanta also got a home Thursday night game against the Bucs that year. London games are not so much about who is home/away. Both teams have to take that trip.

I got it from moving the chains host Pat Kerwin Friday. He was all over it and said Mo way you should have to play a division rival on the road on Thursday night and what bullshite Thursday night games were. He also suggested the drew Bree’s was well aware of that situation and suggest that the players association was going to move against Thursday games because of all the injuries and that drew brees would be leading the effort.
Do you need to know why he got hosed now?

They may not even have to get rid of all Thursday games. They could maybe work it out with the byes. At least require both teams playing on Thursday are coming off a bye. Not sure if this could work with scheduling though..

If you believe we are getting screwed explain this to me

Sean just joined the competition committee this year. I wonder if he would have any input on this.
