It's a friggin long time between games. I'm priming the draft machine while waiting.

It's the way early look but there are some potential names around #70-75 range that look good.

Here's some for you to have on your watch list during bowl games:

Unlikely but maybe if they could be there
LBs- Sean Porter TxAM, Chase Thomas Stanford
DEs- Alex Okafor Texas, William Gholston Mich St
DTs- Sharrif Floyd FL, Sheldon Richardson MZ
CBs- Logan Ryan Rutgers, Desmond Trufant Washington*
S- Tony Jefferson OK, Matt Elam FL

Likely available
LBs-Khaseem Greene Rutgers, Gerald Hodges Penn St
DEs- Corey Lemonier Auburn, Michael Buchanan Illinois
DTs- Kawann Short Purdue, Benny Logan LSU
CBs- Nickell Robey USC, Tyrann Mathieu Shady's
S- Bacarri Rambo GA, Robert Lester AL

*second time a charm... in 2003 when it was announced the Saints had traded their two 1st Rd picks to move up I thought it was for Marcus Trufant fo sho. Instead it was a franchise defining Haslett decision: Jonathan Sullivan. If not Trufant they still could have had Jordan Gross, Terrell Suggs, or Troy Polamalu. The greatest Saints personnel blunder this century.

too many factors to define now-

Who is gone next year comes first. Ellis a definite goner IMO. Smith highly probable. Vilma would be no surprise. Harper even possible with the giant cap bite he takes.

So ya gotta fill the reps you lose. Who currently on the roster can move up and get them? What free agent could be signed to fill the holes? That comes before the draft honing.

Throwing some discussion out here as to who ya like in straight talent but knowing the picks will hinge on those first decisions as well.

Out of that list Sean Porter is far and away my favorite. I rate him prolly higher than most projections tho.

If Harper would happen to go Lester & Rambo have very similar skill sets.

I got over it by realizing if they had drafted an impact player instead of an impact eater, the Haslett/Brooks era may have lasted longer and we wouldn't have had the Payton Brees era. Jonathan Sullivan may deserve a replica SB ring.

This doesnt even make any sense haha. Youre mixing up your JJ references with your HB7 ones.

Logan, Lemonier, and Greene will not be around in the 70's. JMO but I seriously can't see them lasting that long

Lemonier

I agree with you here. I think Lemonier will be a 2nd even potentially 1st round kid.
He looks like he could be one of those guys that kills the combine.

We're talkin pretty broad "possibility" players at this stage. Still a lotta shakeout to happen.

The draft spot could be anywhere from #10 to #20 or #31 or #32. So a lotta ball to be played.

Don't get too wrapped up in what ya read on draft sites at this point either. Very few have authentic analysis. Plenty of players are projected 1st Rders at this point that end up in the 3rd Rd (Martez Wilson 2011). Vice versa just as often too (Bruce Irvin).

How bout add to these scenarios...

1st Rd Saints pick a DE, 3rd Rd I'd like to see __________.
1st Rd Saints pick a LB, 3rd Rd I'd like to see __________.
1st Rd Saints pick a DB, 3rd Rd I'd like to see __________.
1st Rd Saints pick a LT, 3rd rd I'd like to see __________.
