I think they probably move on from Pierre Thomas, because of his cap number and the fact that he's closing in on 30.
False.

Somebody get the falcon game run video and email it to all 31 teams.

whatever we do, I'm starting to think we need to go back to our deuce/bush ways. 3 really is pretty crowded, 4 was just horrible.

It's not like if we were to get lucky and get a second rd pick for Ivory we couldn't spend a 5 or 6 on a rb. Gain a second, spend a fifth, wining situation. There are still UDFAs, which is how we got Thomas...... and there are veterans that have a season left in them that could get on the cheap if one of our RBs were to miss time.

I think the team will keep him around for another year and let him and Ingram duke it out. Ivory proved that he can be more productive in a limited role than Ingram who needs a "magic number" of carries. Ivory, while injury prone, is a better fit for RBBC than Ingram. The one year tender ensures that Ivory won't leave and he can play himself into a long term deal next year with the Saints or someone else if Ingram outshines him.

I hope we are pleasantly surprised in a 3'rd round pick for Ivory!

I just wish we wouldn't have gotten ourselves in this situation with keeping 5 RBs. Now Cadet will be the 4th guy and he isn't worth a shite. Pierre and Sproles are getting up there in age.
We need draft pics. I will be elated to see our 4th option at RB traded for a 2cd round pic. It won't happen, RB's are a dime a dozen in free agency and late rounds. Won't be hard to replace a guy that was played sparingly.

We'll probably trade him for a lower round pick. There's no way we're paying him 2nd round tender money.
+1. With only 5 to start with I'll be happy to get any extra picks.
For those worried about the bottom of our RB group, we'll almost surely bring in some undrafted rookies and perhaps find a diamond in the rough. It worked out pretty well with PT and Ivory.
edt: This is a good move by the Saints. If someone is willing to give up a 2nd rounder for PT, great, let's get the deal done and replace our stolen pick. If not, we can go back on the market and get the best deal we can for Ivory we can.

this, he was tendered just to not lose him.
I'd say he garners a 7th without blinking, a 6th could happen, and a 5th would be a premium score. Get a 4th and Loomis shows his GM badassness.

I think this is a very realistic assessment, although I hope some interfering owner who knows just enough about football to be dangerous (hello? Jerry?) goes nuts and gives up a 2nd-3rd round pick pick for Ivory.

A conditional 6th round that can be upwards of a 4th for performance would be ideal

If he can somehow rid ivory, one of our fat contracts, and a 6th to get a 4-5th rounder, no one should ever question mickey ever again.
