Couple of notes: Payton said Clapp will start out at C and Jamerson at outside CB (Moore is starting out at nickel).

But he did say all 3 have position flexibility so they could fill in at multiple spots or switch to another position if the initial one isn't working.

Yea, I wasn't sure how to list them, so I just listed them how they were after they were drafted. I'll change them up once training camp starts & they settle on an official position.

No biggie. I was just pointing out what Payton said about them.

I kinda feel Jamerson does end up a safety in the end.

Figured this belongs here too.

Just a heads up, DE Alex Jenkins is getting another year of exemption, meaning he doesn't count against our 90 man roster and wouldn't count against our PS.

He was one of the four international players last year assigned to an NFC South team. Each of them is getting this same extra year of exemption, and the program is expanding to the teams in the AFC North.

I found a site that seems to have the most updated list of our udfa's. LINK

UDFA's (12)
QB - JT Barrett
WR - Keith Kirkwood
TE - Deon Yelder
TE - Nate Wozniak
OG/OC - Cory Helms
OG - Daronte Bouldin
OT - Jeremy Irwin
DT - Taylor Stallworth
DE - Henry Mondeaux
LB - Colton Jumper
CB - Linden Stephens
S - JT Gray

Rookie Tryouts (4)
QB - Brandon Silvers
TE - Cam Sergine
OT - David Knevel
LS - AJ Hantak

According to this site...LS AJ Hantak is a rookie tryout & not a udfa (which actually makes sense).

The only player they don't have listed on here is OG Maea Teuhema. Still, I'm assuming we signed him as an udfa.

Assuming Teuhema is signed...that puts us at 13 udfa's & 4 rookie tryouts. We should know the exact figures in the next few weeks I guess. Not exactly sure why, but this years udfa coverage has been a complete & utter cluster frick.

*edit* It looks like we might have signed DT Tashon Smallwood as an UDFA. That would put us at 14 UDFA's. Nothing official yet though.

Saw this on Rotoworld...

Larry Holder of the New Orleans Times-Picayune mentioned Coby Fleener as a player whose Saints roster spot could be in jeopardy.
Frankly it's surprising Fleener has lasted this long in New Orleans, especially after the Saints added veteran Benjamin Watson during free agency. Fleener hasn't come close to living up to his five-year, $36 million contract and enters the Saints' offseason program squarely on the team's roster bubble. Holder also named WR Brandon Coleman, DE Hau'oli Kikaha, RB Daniel Lasco, WR Tommylee Lewis, LB Nathan Stupar and CB P.J. Williams as players who will need to impress this summer in order to keep their roster spots.

Per the June 1st cut rules, you can cut two players prior to June 1st but label them June 1st cuts.

What this means is the players immediately become FAs after being cut and DO free up a roster spot, but the extra money that would be saved if they were actually cut June 1st doesn't come in until then.

So we stand at 89 players. It's Payton's tradition to go into rookie camp every year with one roster spot open for one of the tryout players to earn.

The New Orleans Saints waived linebacker Sae Tautu and signed defensive tackle Taylor Stallworth, an undrafted free agent out of South Carolina, on Tuesday (May 8), according the the NFL's transaction report.

The Saints signed former Brigham Young linebacker Sae Tautu as an undrafted free agent last season but placed him on injured reserve following an MCL injury before releasing him prior to the start of the 2017 season.

New Orleans brought back the 6-foot-3, 245-pound linebacker on a reserve/futures deal in January before cutting him Tuesday.

Stallworth agreed to join the Saints after the 2018 draft, and his signing was made official Tuesday. The 6-foot-2, 305-pound defensive lineman started all 13 games his senior season with the Gamecocks.

Tight end Alex Ellis, who was waived by the Saints on Monday, was claimed by the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Saints signed UDFA offensive lineman Daronte Bouldin. We didn't cut anyone, so this should put us right at the 90 player max. LINK

The New Orleans Saints signed undrafted free agent Daronte Bouldin Wednesday according to the NFL transaction report.

Bouldin, a 6-foot-5, 318-pound, guard out of Ole Miss started three of eight games for the Rebels in 2017 before his season ended in against Kentucky due to a broken foot.

He impressed at the Ole Miss pro day in March cranking out 35 bench press reps.

That total surpassed former Rebels first-round draft pick Laremy Tunsil's school record of 34.

The Saints host rookie minicamp this weekend where draft picks and undrafted free agents along with several tryouts will work out for the first time with the team.

The New Orleans Saints waived four players on Monday to make room for tryout guys who earned roster spots after rookie minicamp.

Linebacker Adam Bighill, offensive lineman Daronte Bouldin and defensive backs Rickey Jefferson and Bradley Sylve all received unfortunate news that they'd been cut after the three-day camp this weekend.

Bighill spent most of 2017 on the Saints practice squad, but he was active for three games. He joined the team last year after transitioning from the CFL.

Sylve spent a portion of last season on the practice squad, too, and signed a reserve/future deal in January.

Jefferson, who prepped at Destrehan and then went to LSU, also signed with the Saints in January.

Bouldin had a short stint with the Saints, signing earlier this month after going undrafted from Ole Miss.

After rookie camp, the Saints signed veteran offensive lineman Michael Ola and defensive tackle Jay Bromley, as well as undrafted rookies linebacker KeShun Freeman and fullback Ryan Yurachek.

We don't get off the cap hook for Fairley's contract if he has a life threatening medical issue?
I was really surprised when they signed this guy to a deal, his history has always been shaky. He might be a solid player that can disrupt the pocket, but he always made bonehead plays and mistakes that would cost his team. I wish they would have kept old Akiem Hicks or re-signed him when he got released by the Patriots like Payton is prone to do in re-signing former players. He's finally playing up to his potential like he showed last season against the Saints.

On Thursday, the team signed free agent safety Sharrod Neasman, NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero reports. Herbie Teope adds that the team waived safety Mykkele Thompson to make room for Neasman.

Fleener is officially off the roster as of today (June 1st). Just have to eat some dead money in 2019.

We still have 4 more voluntary OTA's. June 4-7. After that comes mandatory mini-camp.

The 2018 New Orleans Saints Minicamp presented by Verizon will allow fans to get their first look at the team during open practices from June 12-14 at the Ochsner Sports Peformance Center.

Tuesday, June 12
11:00 am – 1:20 pm Practice – (Open to the Public)

Wednesday, June 13
11:00 am – 1:20 pm Practice – (Open to the Public)

Thursday, June 14
11:00 am – 1:20 pm Practice – (Open to the Public)

Following minicamp, the team will have a break of about six weeks before training camp begins this summer.

So I guess we have 11 days until it gets real boring around here.
