New Orleans Saints:
Khairi Fortt, ILB, California: B Grade
This is a solid pick. I thought Khairi Fortt would be chosen around this range, and he also fills a need for the Saints. David Hawthorne hasn't played well for them over the past couple of seasons, so it's possible that Fortt could step in as the starter in 2015.

Do the Saints really go BPA?
They chose a guy no one's ever heard of in the fourth.

Nothing wrong with him learning behind Lofton/Hawthorne/Humber etc
It's not like he'll be asked to start

Reach IMO. Like the idea as a risk, he can be a stud in a 3-4, just hasn't had time to get in a groove and stay healthy

Tons of upside. That blurb Rand put up said it best. Better athlete than player at this point but HUGE upside.
As long as he stays healthy we can coach him up. Not bad for a 4th rounder who could become a very good starter.

And this guys was projected to be 4-5th at a lot of places. He was more of a dark horse under the radar guy though.
Huge boom or bust.

Let's hope he isn't the next Martez who was also a better athlete than football player

Gotta wait 39 picks now.

We SUCK at developing linebackers.

"He's best suited inside, but he's so strong and his height is deceptive because he's so built and so muscular," said LaVar Arrington, a former three-time All-Pro with Washington who also played with the Giants. "He has great reach and great length and could be a nice 3-4 outside backer. He's explosive and very athletic. Khairi could be a SAM over a tight end or be a 3-4 style blitzing outside backer."

Or even 6th. If there wasn't anyone else there that they like, then take the guy you want. I just don't believe he was a risk to be taken before they pick again.

You either take a safer player with little upside and isn't that good, or a boom/bust guy.

Just watched a few minutes of his highlights. Doesn't wow you, but looks like he has good play recognition, plays low and sheds blocks well, and is a solid tackler. Solid pick.

Am I tripping or did ESPN not cover our pick at all.
