Last Saints player all pro? I see a lot of former players (Baun and Hendrickson).

Smfh on Buan shite is insane.

Look all over the league even coaching too shows you those last Payton teams were special all the talent all over coaching/playing/ front office guys getting jobs.

Makes that LA robbery worse every day.

It’s hard to see but I’m hoping a young HC takes the reign and exposes our lackey daisy GM.

They weren't that good when they were here. You could almost say they were average. There's plenty of players that left here and improved dramatically besides those 2.

The problem is not having confidence in your draft picks or playing them out of position. Whatever the case we suck.

WTF are you taking about? I bumped a thread the other day saying how Hendrickson would have been leading the league in sacks if not for a couple bs penalties his last year with us and we should have franchised him.

You don’t almost lead the league in sacks and say he wasn’t good here….

Hendrickson was, the only problem is that Mickey couldn't look 3 years down the road and realize that he would be needed eventually.

Baun was out of position. He didn't work in Allen's defense, which the Saints won't have next year. All of that to say, enjoy watching them for the next few seasons knowing that if we had a GM worth a shite they would still be here.

I thought OP was asking about last 1st team All-Pro. Because if we are including 2nd team, I am pretty sure Demario has been 2nd team from 2020-2023 and AK has a 2nd team in there somewhere

Hendrickson was really good when he was here. We couldn’t afford to keep him though. It’s not that we didn’t want to, we really couldn’t afford to. He got a huge contract from Cincinnati.

Baun was a complete Allen F@€k up!

They could afford it but they gave it to peat and Davenport instead.

having a first team all pro that couldn't see the field with your team is fricking crazy

Davenport was still on a rookie contract. The issue was MT13, Peat, Ram, and Taysom’s contract. And what cap space they had next year they were going to try to use to resign Marcus Williams.

one of the most complete and utter frick ups by the front office in the history of the organization, and that's saying something...

Didn't they also pick up the 5th year for Davenport instead of offering Trey, or am I off on the time frame? I think it was more about being right considering the draft capital used on each for the same position, than it was about the money. Mickey has shown he can make the money work.

Just to rub salt in the wound. If they did trade up for Lamar (hindsight, they could have stayed put and still landed Lamar), does that mean they stick with Trey instead of digging in and proving how right they were to move up for Davenport.

Hendrickson was no where near average when he was here. The guy was on a clear trajectory for where he is at now. Saints simply couldn't give up on their precious Tarzan (Davenport) who could not stay healthy and an aging Cam Jordan.

Anyone with sense wanted to keep Hendrickson, but it wasn't possible because of awful decisions by Payton and mostly Loomis.

We have the least amount of draft picks since 2000 with 160. The next team is Jets with 178. Something has to give..
