What a stupid discussion

Well, there are some stupid people in this thread.

Anyone that thinks there's some kind of Saints bias against LSU isn't a Saints fan. They are an LSU fan pretending to be a Saints fan.

Its not a stupid discussion.

I love Kenny V. But why did they take him over Reid?

This one has always baffled me.

Let me say again. I love how Kenny has turned out for us, and hope we keep him for a long time. But Reid was the higher rated, smarter, bigger, faster, higher jumping player..Yet we took Kenny with Reid still on the board.

Vaccaro had versatility, which we liked. Also, I don't believe that Reid was universally higher rated. I remember the Pats having him as their #1 safety

Walter Football

NFL.com

SBnation

From what it looks like, Vaccaro was pretty widely considered higher rated

I don't even know how to respond to the totally irrational assertions. I think that these people are just generally silly and irrational people in their real lives, and they are projecting their silliness onto the Saints because that's simply how they see the world. It's just sports I guess, but it's also kind of strange stuff.

You're right. It's fricking moronic. It's assigning convoluted irrational reasons based on emotion to things that have clear and simple explanations.

Take the Bama bias accusation from the first page. Totally irrational and based on nothing. I remember the saints picking 2 players from Bama since 2005. A whole whopping 1 more than LSU. That's some bias.

Think about it genius.....not a single team spent a pick on a 1st round guy. Not one single team!!! It came from the horses mouth, but continue to believe what you want....don't know what else to tell you.

Don't kid yourself, Roger can do a lot. It's not your right to play in the NFL.....it is a privilege. TIFWIW
nowhere in this incoherent rant did you coem close to making sense.

though I suppose I appreciate the effort

Read the thread. It's a response. Sorry about your lack of comprehension, but hey......I appreciate your concern on my effort.

The Saints did in fact want him. Again, he wanted......Dallas.
Him wanting Dallas wouldn't have mattered if NO drafted him. Some of you appear to have zero reading comprehension.

Podna, you are the one who is lacking comprehension...better yet, you are clueless to the whole situation. How are you going to draft someone who is undraftable? And yes, in free agency...the Saints wanted him, but he wanted to go to Dallas.

Dan Quinn and the Falcons love some LSU players. Both the past previous drafts, Falcons have taken a LSU player in the second round.

They're taking BPA on their board at the position of need, the Falcons like the saints and every other franchise don't really care where a kid went to college. Coming from a school with a winning culture can get a prospect a check mark on the pros list, but it's not going to be the deciding factor in a draft pick

According to this board during the draft, Debo was a huge reach and definitely not BPA for Falcons pick. Maybe some teams like the certain style of defensive players LSU puts out?

Regardless, after how well Kwon and Debo have done in the NFL from game 1, if I was a GM and my team needed a linebacker, Beckwith would be a top choice.

If he didn't have a torn ACL, I'd have no problems taking him in the second

Well, according to their own team evaluations, he apparently was the BPA. This is so clear. They didn't consider him a reach. These teams don't just take Mel Kiper's big board as gospel and don't bother to do any research and analysis themselves.

Sean Payton has something against LSU and he'd rather hold this grudge and let the team spiral downward than let it go and make the team better. We should have gotten Lael. We should have tried to trade up to get OBJ (they could do it for shitty arse Ingram), and the list goes on. Sean hates LSU and he won't win again until he lets this shite go. The curse started after they cut Devery and made no attempt in the years since to get a Tiger.

Al Woods left the Saints' brass with such a bad taste, they refuse to draft any more purple and gold riff-raff.
