But do we need to win tonight to get HFA?

That's what this thread is about.

We should also be rooting for every AFC East team to win except Jets over us, Was to win, and the NFC North minus Min to win except GB over Car. That would help increase our SoV and SoS.

First game last year with the dirty birds, they put 45 on us and then later won again and swept.

I am sure they will remember that.

Wouldn't it be better if they lose? It would hurt Minnesota more than us if they lose games (besides when they play Minnesota ).

Hold on let me do a calculation...

Yep. He's right, we do not need to root for the Jets to beat us.

no, according to the ESPN playoff machine we could still be the #1 seed at 12-4

therefore, my point has been proven once again, this is not a must win

Actually, I just checked. We can get the #1 seed at 10-6. It's all good guys. We just need to win 1 more and we have it all locked up.

I'm pumped as can be so I'm not sure where that came from.

Similar to the rams game, yall will all be melting if we lose tonight because in your silly mind this is a "must win"

But if I don't put it some jackass will say that I'm suggesting the Jets beat us.

It's a catch-22, like Manning had in the SB. If he doesn't throw it they lose. If he does Porter picks that fricker off and runs it back for a TD and the Saints win the mother fricking SB!

saints have a 97.1% chance of making the playoffs

falcons had like a 99% chance of winning the super bowl when they were up 28-3

they then blew a 28-3 lead in the Super Bowl

the falcons blew a 25 point lead in the Super Bowl

It also puts Car and Atl back in the hunt for the division and puts us in mild danger of missing the playoffs completely.

This is actually why this game is valuable to us - there is a number of scenarios this week that can CLINCH a playoff spot for us, but they all require a win (and the rest that are realistic require a CAR loss, which is do-able). I'll feel a lot better about everything if we just for sure GET IN.

I think all we need to do is root for the Saints to win out (toughest remaining game is tonight), the Panthers to keep winning for SoV purposes, and the Vikings and the Eagles to lose this weekend in very tough road games. That would ensure #1 seed.

My hope is for the Saints to win the NFC South.

Whatever happens after that is lagniappe.

Yeah I may walk that back a bit.

They split with the Lions while we beat them, so I think it still holds we want the Lions to win out.
