You're the one trying say how tough you are on the internet.

This is fun.

So are you just going to be miserable until April when the team can actually prove something to you?

If this small ball stuff with Theiss and Missi as our only bigs are going to work, Zion has to be a much better rebounder than he has been. In his first game he was just that. You complain about him being in shape and you say he has a loose handle. Neither were issues tonight. So you are just going to bitch and be miserable about something you know won’t be an issue going forward?

I don’t think anyone would say Zion was great tonight but he took over the game in the beginning of the 4th qtr, got Hawk going, and got us back to the lead. I didn’t love everything about tonight but I sure as hell don’t get where you are coming from.

Huh?

When Zion has a 25+ point and 7+ reb game, I'll celebrate it... y'know... like I've always done.

Look at the other threads, I'm giving flowers to BI and fricking Daniel Theiss. Just because I think Zion had a mediocre game doesn't mean I'm miserable

Sorry that you're upset someone has a different opinion than you.

For once, he was actually in decent shape to start the season. He was active on D, trying to rebound, etc.

Distribution was awesome in the 4th to Hawk, etc.

Ehh... he only played 29 minutes, which is around what he was averaging in the firs half of last saying when he was "playing his way into shape"

Now, it remains to be seen if tonight's shortened minutes were because he was sick or is not fully in shape.

That was legitimately concerning. But in those 29 minutes, I don't recall seeing him struggling with his stamina.

Other than his FG%, what issues do you have with his performance? He rebounded his arse off, played well on defense, did a good job setting up his teammates (7 assists), and only had one turnover.

He said he felt he was "lagging" and a step slow. He said he saw the openings but could get there like he would normally could. Said he's not 100% yet from the illness. We'll see how he'll look on Sunday.

His free throw shooting.

His on-ball defense wasn't great in the first half either, but neither was anyone else.

Not sure what you're trying to do here.

Your star player who is out for a vengeance should be scoring more than 16 points on 15 shots.

His second half was nice. But we need more from him if this team is serious.
I think the point is your best player won't have a good shooting night every game, and when you don't, doing all the other little things is key to still winning games.

Zion did that tonight. Terribly inefficient which we know won't be the norm, but did a lot of other things to help his team win the game.

Never disputed any of that in the second half.

But I'm also not going to say he played great tonight.

2 nights ago multiple dudes absolutely lost their minds over my Missi takes then all of them eventually said the literal same exact thing I said.

Never fails.

I got one dude wanting me to meet him in person because I'm not over the moon with Zion's performance today.

I was ok with the hyperbolic missi takes but you definitely were a wet blanket about it. I understand where your coming from shel, but some folks just wanna have fun hahaha

Missi has more blocks than fouls btw. We drafted Dikembe Mutumbo didn't we?

Almost a triple-double and 4 blocks. He’s going to find his rhythm as the season goes on. He’s going to be a force.

If that’s playing like crap, ie the floor of his play, we about to win the championship

Zion career rebounding rate - 11.1%
Zion rebounding rate this game - 20.1%

Zion career assist rate - 22.4%
Zion assist rate this game - 32.4%

Zion career block rate - 1.9%
Zion block rate this game - 9.5%

Zion career turnover rate - 12.5%
Zion turnover rate this game - 4.5%

We got like 200 games of evidence of Zion’s offense “being there”. If he’s really going to show marked improvement in the above areas then we will be a freight train in the west and he will be in the mvp discussion
