Uncle Al splashes a little cold water on his return by saying we won't practice again for a week (which seemed apparent due to the schedule).

Gentry says it’ll be a week before the team can really practice again but Zion did participate fully in practice and in 5-on-5 drills.

Gentry preached conditioning and once again said team will be overly cautious. When Zion does return, there will a minutes restrictions early.

E'Twaun stopped himself when someone asked if he had seen Zion's between-the-legs dunk.
"I didn't see that! He must be oka.....he must be getting closer if he's doing that."

The 3rd practice will be before a home stint vs Jazz. I think he will wait until 1/18 vs the clippers since it is on ABC. The next and only national broadcast game after that is 2/4 vs the Bucks.

Best thing from Pelicans practice today was seeing Fred Vinson working w/ Zion Williamson. Free throw stroke looked better (results were quite good), but Vinson worked hard on Zion improving his shot extension. Had him shoot off 1 leg, move further back, all sorts of fun things!

That's cool. Vinson is really good at what he does.

I don't really understand the difference between him practicing and playing a small number of minutes in a game, since we don't have time to practice.

It's not like they're telling him to half arse it in practice, because that's basically the best way to get injured.

And it's not like Uncle Al's rotations are so sacred that playing Zion 10 minutes in a game would somehow throw off the chemistry. No one has any idea how many minutes NAW, Frank, and Kenny hustle will be getting night to night anyway. You can just bet there will no consistency to it.

Why is Zion standing on the edge of that table?

It's one of those cutting edge Aaron Nelson tests. Griffin said this one of the assessments he has to pass

If he gets this team into the playoffs, then he deserves it.
