The Clippers are in a really interesting spot right now. They have a favorable schedule heading towards the trade deadline, but they're just a 4 or 5 game losing streak from being out of it.

No of course they won't build around Lou. But since they just dished out all that money to Gallinari & Griffin, I highly doubt they are planning on hitting reset to take a step back to go forward (i.e. trading Lou Williams away to retool when he has been huge leading them back into playoff contention). If they do trade Williams away, I dont think LAC is good enough to scare many teams. I bet they'd start losing, and you might have a pretty volatile situation in LA. Or at least that's the risk you run.
I think there plan is to trade away Jordan (good luck) and resign Williams or find a bigger name. Because at least with Lou Williams this team can at least compete and look like an attractive destination. But they have kind of dug themselves into a hole (similar to the Pelicans).
Also I'm just saying George Hill signed a $20 mil contract at 31 and doesn't put up numbers like Lou.

That is my point. Someone is going to pay Sweet Lou big in the short term. Clippers have a $120M payroll right now and will be similar next season unless they trade Deandre. They have been trying to engage Williams agent on an extension or some handshake deal to re-sign, but do not seem to be getting anywhere as Lou keeps increasing his trade value.
I also think they will trade Deandre and will have to take back some salary. So the question becomes, do you trade Deandre only to give the savings to Lou?

want people to click on the links and give him the credit he deserves so he can keep putting out good stuff.
Your support here on TD is essential in making sure Zach Lowe gets his proper credit...

Had he started with the good and ended with the bad I'd have posted mostly good stuff and someone else would be accusing me of being biased the other direction.
Or, summarize the article appropriately.

You go find, read and summarize a long form article on your own time for people that will bitch and moan if you don't give them only the words they want to read. Seriously guys, I have no problem with feed back letting me know what y'all want, but I don't appreciate the attitude and accusations I've gotten from some in this thread. I spend way more time than I should posting news stories so you don't have to go find them. I don't expect thanks, I do it for the information exchange, but y'all can at least not be dicks.
