They just saved nearly 8 figures a year with Woj retiring, I don’t know why they would have to cut more.

Only thing that makes sense is they are about to throw a boatload of money at Shams

What is their strategy exactly? Do they have anyone left with any kind of NBA credibility?

not really shocking. Looks who’s left at espn. It’s nothing but hot take garbage to cater to their unemployed adult/ little kid audience.

Damn, I'm glad someone pointed that ugly fact out. Perk has improved marginally, but he still sucks as far as any appreciable attribute that is necessary to being a good critic and source for in depth analysis of the game. Obviously, i need not even point out the complete absence of Perk discussing X's and O's or anything related thereto.

Perk was a LeBron hire as a favor for the controversy with Michelle Beale (sp?). But Perk after all this time, adds very little to a telecast.

He's the resident ogre and his takes and his prognostications are an exercise in being horribly wrong an absurd amount of the time. I basically bet the opposite of Perk and you have a 68% percent of selecting the winning team.

He doesn't even have any inside intel on any prospective trades, lockeroom morale, etc... Perk is no better than one of us, coming off the street and assuming the role. He's awful and i assume he will be expeditiously fired, the second Bron retires.

Whitlock and LeBetard have both talked about this on their podcasts. It seems like ESPN is letting go of guys with print media backgrounds in favor of people who have exclusively visual media experience. SAS being the exception.

That’s what he says, but it sounds like he doesn’t have any backup plan, so it reads to me like it was a fired or quit type deal.

It's possible he has a new deal locked up but just can't announce it yet, perhaps?
