Gordon plays on the perimeter and have a pull-up game along with a much better shot than Randle.

He’s also a considerably better defender. If Julius Randle was a very good switchable defender, he’d be a a stud.

this is shitty semantics. Garland scored at an easy pace in those 5 games and had many passes that went for misses because his team wasnt really good. And 15 turnovers in 5 games which isnt HORRIBLE for a freshman PG on a bad team making all the offense. It isnt good, but come on guys.

I personally think Garland is the next Jamal Crawford. But I will say that Culver and Hunter have a higher ceiling imo, but I really think the Pels need an elite 3pt shooter for Jrue, Zion, and possibly Lonzo (which Im fine with).

But Culver and Hunter would also make me happy at #4. Itll be interesting to see what we do.

If Griff and Langdon want him, I’m not gonna be upset. Anyone they choose to pick will be fine by me. I do like his upside, but people are hyping him up a bit too much over such little info and tape we have one him.

If we don’t a clear upgrade for #4, I want either Hunter or Culver

Culver has the ability to become a primary ball handler at 6’7”, projects as a do-it-all combo-guard, plays excellent defense, has an above average shot, and a underrated post up game

Hunter on the other side projects as a combo-forward and an idea low usage 3&D player. Will be an elite defender and a very good shooter

Only issue between the two is that I see a high floor but average to low ceilings. I like both

You guys who so quickly want to trade away Ball will be changing your tune shortly when he plays for the Pels and then you really get to appreciate what he does for the team.

I’m low on Garland only because it’s pretty much like him coming from High School to the NBA. I’m higher on White because he’s 6’5, and a good defender who is very fast at point. Also White has played in higher leveraged games. He’s played Zion and Duke three times and played well. I like Garland and he might be a good nba player, but y’all can not look at 5 games and be like he’s the next star point guard.

My favorite players in the 4-8 spots are Culver, Hunter, And White. I hope we keep Ball and we draft Hunter. Hunter reminds me of a Butler/ Leonard type player who at first is a good defensive player and rounds into a Star. The NCAA Championship showed me a lot he scored 27 and pretty much shut down Culver. He can guard 1-4 and I like the way he plays. People say he’s not a scorer, but we all know the type of offense Virginia runs. Maybe in an Gentry type offense his offense game is good.

I think that’s why Garlands name is being thrown around. He us the guy most teams would trade up for at 4. Got a feeling we moving that pick.

With Zion, Holiday and Ingram we will not bottom our. I really hope they understand that and take their time with this process

I’m all for trading the pick if we can get a nice young vet. But who’s offering one?

Garland would be a good pick. His shooting ability and shot creating are legit. If he can just become an average defender he could be an all star.

And for some reason I just get flashes of Jamal Murray when I watch Garland. I remember a lot of pelicans weren’t high on Murray either. Now, we wanted him to possibly be the centerpiece in an AD trade.

Watched Garlands highlight reel.. granted much of it is high school but man he moves around like he has three legs or something. Just seems like he has enormous upside

While Hunter's highlights give me the impression that he's destined to be a serviceable yet unspectacular player

We need vets for the health and growth of whichever young studs we keep other than Zion. You don’t want a roster of 20-23 year olds losing 50 games together. Not good for the health of growing our culture and for them learning how to be pros.

We want to compete and need a few vets to show the way. Trade the pick. We’ve got picks galore now. Young talent won’t be our problem for a long time.

I still lean Garland with number 4.

As his floor to me is solid 6th man like a poor mans Lou Williams, and his upside is fringe all star.

But there is something to say about what Hunter slots in as. Which is a solid, consistent, well rounded two way player that isn’t going to dominate the ball but is going to give you above average defense and above average shooting.

Every team can use that Harrison Barnes, Aminu, DeMarre Carroll, Robert Covington type player that doesn’t command 15 shots a game but can get you 10-12 points a night, a few threes, defend 2-4 with ease, and do the little things.

I'm not sure Barnes belongs with those names. He's a 15 to 20 shot guy. Pretty high volume

Hell yes! Going to speak Pelican Aaron Gordon into existence.

Hopefully we can get off of Solo's contract and make a run at Vucevic in FA too.

I don’t know much about Garland except what I’ve read. But from this thread, his ceiling is James Hardin and his floor is Jameer Nelson with injury concerns. Is that about right?
